"I would like to capture it with you but I'm currently busy with paperworks and Klee's missions aftermath," Jean said as Traveler sighed when he heard about Klee. "I will be in my office; if you need any assistance, just go to me," Jean said as she left.
"Well, should we go to Springvale?" Paimon said as she started flying away. "Come on, Traveler!" She shouted, Traveler following behind.
Diluc walked behind them, thinking about the person that they needed to capture—was it really them? Is he simply enthralled with that person's mysterious nature to the extent that he becomes fixated on them whenever he hears of someone using a bow? It's probably more of the latter for the fine young man.
Early mornings in Mondstadt have always been beautiful, as the sun seems to love Mondstadt over other nations. Well, Sumeru's dessert will say otherwise, but the sun here feels like a warm hug. No wonder the traveler always comes back here for commissions and events—a welcoming nation that makes them feel accepted no matter their origin.
Arriving at Springvale, the smell of meat getting cooked greets the three, and welcoming smiles from the villagers are seen. Draff approached the three of them and started talking about the thief. "Good morning, you three. I'm assuming that you're here for the thief situation," Draff asked, and the three nodded.
"Has there anything that triggered the situation? Some sort of revenge between the vendors and that thief?" Diluc asked as he crossed his arms, immediately taking apart the situation. Paimon and the Traveler were both awed at this, as he's fast with his critical thinking. "Thieves usually don't just put themselves out there unless they're working as a gang. But because the report only described one person, I'm anticipating there is more to it."
Draff sighed and recalled the day where he first met the thief: "I am actually the one who helped them first. I saw them one day groaning in pain and clunching their stomach, murmuring something indecipherable, so I gave them some cooked meat." Diluc sighed already, knowing where this would go. "I told them to go to Springvale if there is any trouble or if they're hungry; I didn't think that I would be attracting a thief."
"Well, that's not your fault! They could've just asked to get some food!" Paimon protested and Traveler nodded along with her. "Plus, it's not that hard to ask for food, right, Traveler?" Paimon giggled as Traveler sighed.
"Hmm, well, we should start setting up something to let them come out," the traveler suggested, and Diluc nodded. "Draff, have you noticed the things they like the most?" the traveler asked, and Draff thought about it.
"Oh, yes! They like vegetables and often steal them; it seems like they often go for light-weight foods," Draff said, trying to remember more about what the thief steals. "They do steal some meat around, especially if Brook cooks them; it seems like this thief of ours has some taste." Draff chuckled, while the others giggled.
"We should let Miss Brook cook some food for them and see if they'll eventually come out," Diluc said as they started walking towards Brook, asking if she could prepare some food that the thief usually goes for, and she immediately smiled. "Hmm, do you know who they are?" Diluc asks, taken aback by Brook's smile.
"Well, no, I don't. But I have seen them a lot; I guess the smell of my cooking makes them come here often and I appreciate them for that," Brook said as she chopped some meat, washing the blood off and putting it in the pot. "I saw them one time steal my food. I was going to chase them, but when I saw how small they are and how boney they look, I just couldn't do it. Stealing my food for no reason is bad, but when I can tell that they need it, I just let them go," Brook said.
This shocked the three—the fact that somebody who gets their food stolen all the time smiles at the mention of that thief. Somebody who needs that food as much as a normal person needs it lets a random person steal it, which is shocking to the three. It seems like their minds are corrupted by how bad the world is, to the point where they forget that nice people exist.
"Well, we should just wait and see where the thief will be," Diluc said, and Traveler nodded, the three of them splitting apart so all sections of Springvalle would be guarded.

Brook finished cooking and the smell of her dish gets carried along the wind and a certain somebody just couldn't let it pass like that. They immediately went towards the smell and saw the woman cook, licking their lips and jumping down quietly, slowly taking the cooked food before the woman could catch them.
They successfully took the dish without anyone catching them—well, except a certain redhead—but they didn't realize that so far.
When Diluc heard a faint thud, he turned to look at the table behind Brook. Noticing that the dish was missing, he realized that the thief was already there. He told Brook to walk inside her house, as things can get nasty if he strikes the thief with his vision. Walking behind the table, he saw no one, but he heard somebody running. He noticed someone running when he turned to face the sound, but they did not appear to be carrying the dish. Diluc instantly started to chase after the thief after he noticed the empty bowl on the ground.
Paimon heard the commotion and called for Traveler, but when she went towards the spot where the Traveler seemed to be guarding, they're nowhere to be found. Diluc chased after the thief, his feet getting wet from the water well in the middle of the village. This seemed like a bad moment because as soon as the thief saw his feet wet, they froze them.
"What?" Diluc groaned, and when he looked up, he saw the thief lunging at him, pinning him to the ground. Diluc groaned when his foot started aching because of the ice digging into his skin. He used his vision to slowly melt the ice on his feet and he pinned down the thief under him. "You've been causing trouble with the villagers; you need to stop," Diluc said.
"I won't, redhead!" Y/N shouted and bit his hand, standing up as soon as Diluc let go. A bow appeared on their hand, and they started aiming for Diluc. It appears that the bow is composed of ice, and the arrow itself is an icicle. "Shit's not good for you, dude, my cryo vision digs inside your skin, you'll need to properly melt that shit," Y/n said as they aimed for Diluc's head.
A voice called out, "STOP!" caught Y/n's attention as she turned to see Brook running ahead of them before she stopped. "Don't hurt him! He's a good person; please, he's just helping us," Brook said as she touched Y/n's arms.
Y/N shook her hand away and slowly lowered their weapon, still glaring at Diluc. "Tsk, you're lucky this woman likes you," Y/N said, and she was going to leave when she heard a squeaky noise, ears perking up like a cat. They realized the noise came from the flying fairy.
The flying fairy cried out, "YOU! How dare you do that to the traveler?" and attacked Y/N right away—more like just slapping them on the shoulders. She questioned, "Why did you tie the Traveler with an ice rope, huh?" To which the Traveler simply withdrew Paimon.
"They saw me, so obviously I need to tie them down," Y/N said as they made their bow disappear. "I am going; I am full anyway," they said, and they turned to leave when someone grabbed their hand.
"You're not going to leave that easily," Diluc said in a stern voice, His hands are boiling hot and Y/n is hissing because of it. "You'll need to explain this to the acting grand master," Diluc said as he started pulling Y/N's arm.
"Oi, I don't need to explain shit! I was taking food from them because the head hunter told me so."
"Stealing food and asking for food are two different things."
"The hell? Let me go, redhead!"
"It's Master Diluc for you, kid."
Y/N yelled, "I am older than you!" and attempted to break free, but their arm was tightly gripped. They also can't use their vision, as the heat from the man is going to melt it anyway. "Fucking hell," Y/N murmured.
Diluc grimaced when he remembered earlier how much hope he has to see the person he wanted to see for so many years, just to have this foul-mouthed person ruin it. The thought of him comparing this person to the person he has waited for is just unforgivable; those two are way too different from each other. He sighed and just kept walking towards the city while dragging this thief around.
Not knowing that he actually has met them.

The first encounter between the two main characters is not very pleasant. Also, the readers can just imagine what their bow will look like. :)
