A night with a cool breeze is common in Mondstadt, with dandelions flowing along the wind and trees swaying and singing with the people in the city. Outside the city gates is a welcoming breath of fresh air; just don't go too far because of monsters running rampant along the grassy fields. It would be a beautiful night for Y/N, except that the bridge towards Dragonspine is greeting them.

A cursed bridge where they can't seem to break it or leave it.

The mountain in Dragonspine is extremely cold; the reason for this frigid weather is the divine nail that dropped from the sky. This mountain has been known to be so cold that it can kill travelers if they're not prepared enough. There is only one family that can live in these conditions: the Blumenthals, a family gifted by Tsaritsa herself.

The cryo power that the Blumenthals have is not normal; it seems like the Tsaritsa herself made it for their whole family, just for them to be powerful. They have an advantage in Dragonspine because of their vision, which renders them immune to ice and unaffected by extreme cold.

In combat, this proves to be their greatest asset, as they have a unique way of implementing freeze to their enemy. As soon as their ice powers hit an enemy, they will flow inside the body of the enemy that was hit. This will flow through the whole body to the point of immobilizing the enemy, which helps them ensure a clean hit after the fight without causing any problems to the surrounding area.

So for the redhead to be able to stop the vision from spreading across his whole body surprised Y/n. "Hm, I know that he has a vision, but no one has been able to do that to my vision. Even Jean wasn't able to stop my vision from spreading to her whole body," Y/n murmured, walking across the bridge to Dragonspine.

"Good evening, Master Y/n!" The fatui greeted Y/n; they waved their hand back and kept on walking. After a few steps, they heard a loud roar and saw Ukko walking towards them. The frostarm lawachurl was ready to attack but stopped when he saw Y/n's bow.

"I do not think you would like to get hit by this," Y/N said as the lawachurl turned away. As they continued walking, they came across the entrance to their mansion—the mansion their ancestors built. "They sure do love ice, huh?" Y/N thought to themselves as they opened the massive doors and felt the cozy glow of their fireplace.

"Where were you, Young Master?" The latter froze when they heard their butler's voice. The butler cleared his throat once and smiled at Y/N, his eyes clearly saying otherwise. "Young master, were you doing bad things again at our Springvale villagers?" Their butler asked again, and they sighed.

"Shh, Gudrun, please don't tell anyone," Y/n pleaded, a smile on their face, a sign of mischief that happened. "I promise I won't do anything bad for a while," Y/n said as they raised their arms, a sign of defeat.

"Young master, I know that I am very nice towards you, but you can't fool me any more," Gudrun said as he started picking off the ice flakes on Y/N's clothes. He stood up straight again and left the front door. "I'll prepare you a cup of tea; the journey from Mondstadt must be cold," Gundrun said as he started walking in the kitchen.

Y/N sighed and calmed down a bit, knowing that Gudrun would never snitch on them; it's been years since he's been their butler, and they know him very well. A cool breeze extinguished the fire as she made her way to the fireplace to warm up. Y/n's shoulder tensed up when they realized who this is.

"Well, aren't you a bit late for dinner, or have you eaten from those peasants?" A chill ran down Y/N's spine, not expecting to see or even hear their father in the house. The man usually has business outside Dragonspine, requiring him to travel a lot. "I received a letter from Master Jean earlier, talking about your theft. Do you really think that your actions are acceptable, young one?"

"It wasn't theft; I was just getting food."

"No matter what you say, the villagers stated in the report that you are taking food from them and acting like a feral child!" Their father spoke, his cane banging on the wooden floor, and ice slowly slid towards Y/N. "You are a noble child; you should not act like a peasant! Years of training for you to be proper, and you do such immature things like this?" Their father said as he started descending down the stairs.

The ice has slowly crept up to where Y/n is, immobilizing their foot. They immediately started using their own vision to counter the coldness, but nothing happened; their father's vision was simply stronger. "Due to your strange doings, our family's reputation is now stained because of you! What's worse is that you got caught by a Ragnvindr?!"

There it is again: the hatred for Ragnvindrs. Y/N is getting sick of it; those redheads haven't done anything bad to them, at least not that they know off. The only bad thing that Redhead did to them was that he caught them stealing, but they planned on it anyway.

"You're a Blumenthal; you should never leave Dragonspine. This is our home, the only place where we are accepted. Please, Y/n, listen to me for once." The ice on Y/n's feet slowly melted, their bodies filling with warmth, and the fireplace was turned on. "My child, you're the last hope; make the Blumenthals rise again." Their father spoke, caressing Y/n's cheeks and giving them a pat on the shoulder.

"Yes, father." Y/n obeyed, bowing their head as a sign of respect. Gundrun arrived with tea and offered their father but he declined. "Where are you going?" Y/n asked, noticing their father walking towards the door.

"Inazuma, I have business to attend to; books and writing materials are being ordered from us. Don't leave the house while I'm gone!" Their father said, and he shut the door. The cool breeze is slowly dissipitating, and the house is filled with warmth.

"Young master, here's your tea," Gundrun said as he placed them on the coffee table, Y/n noticed a small slice of cake alongside their tea and smiled. Gundrun took out something from his coat and handed it over to Y/N. "Young Master, it seems like you will have a mission for tomorrow, from Master Jean." Y/N took the letter and carefully opened it.

Dear Y/n,

I am giving you this letter for a designated mission. A mission that I know only you will be able to handle. I would appreciate if you would read and understand this letter that I wrote.

The mission is in Stormterror's Lair, and many knights have fallen because of this mission. The Fatui have released a monster, and nobody has been able to contain it. I would like to take the mission by myself, but paperwork has been bugging me lately.

I will tell the knights of your appearance if you would like to do this mission. Please tell me if you will need anything for this fight. I will be in my office.

Sincerely,

Jean.

Y/N has never eaten something so fast just for them to get in their room and get ready for this mission. Gundrun cleared his throat and started cleaning up after his young master.

"Another mission? Are the knights even doing something?" Diluc asked the Traveler as they shrugged. The redhead rubbed his temple, seemingly irritated that more work has been dumped on him, even if it wasn't his job. "There are many people in the Knights of Favonius; don't tell me they're that weak," Diluc remarked, already knowing the answer to his question.

"Apparently the knights that did go to that mission were all defeated, and they're all injured really badly!" Paimon exclaimed and shuddered, thinking about something. "Knowing the Fatui, they definitely did something really bad this time," Paimon added.

"Jean told us that we would be accompanied by another person on this mission," the traveler stated. Diluc's shoulders tensed up at the mention of working with a stranger. "I don't know who they are, as Jean never told me anything, but I'm assuming they're strong," the traveler added, realizing how stressed Diluc looked.

"Well, let's hope for the best!" Paimon shouted and Diluc just nods along with them. Thinking about who could accompany them on this 'dangerous' mission that the knights themselves can't solve.

The redhead was also thinking about the possibility that they could be one of them.
