"Oh Georgie, you look..." Phoenix sighed.

"...so fucking hot," Lainey finished. "I won't be surprised if he passes away at the altar when he sees you coming, that's how good you look."

She was wearing a white silk dress with loose, thin sleeves which was cinched at her waist before spreading out into a floor-length A-line skirt. Her blonde hair was in loose waves, and she had decided not to wear a veil.

"In that case, they'll be referring to today as the Miramar mass murder, because you guys also look really, really good," she grinned.

Lainey and Phoenix, as bridesmaids, wore matching pink cocktail dresses, coordinating with the pink flowers in Georgie's bouquet.

There was a knock at the door.

"Hey, nice suit, dad!"

The deal had been, that since Georgie was wearing a dress, everyone else would also wear civilian clothing rather than dress uniforms, and so far, everyone looked very good.

"I've got something for you," the admiral said, handing her a necklace. "It was your mother's. She wore it at our wedding, and before she died she asked me to give it to whichever one of you got married first."

"Oh, dad, it's beautiful," she sighed, fastening it around her neck. "I wish she was here."

"Me, too kid. But I know that wherever she is, she is watching, and she is so goddamn proud of you, and she's probably crying right now."

Georgie nodded, taking a deep breath.

"Is everybody ready?" the admiral asked. "I believe it's time to go."

"Just one more thing," Lainey replied. "Wedding selfie!"

She held out her phone to capture a picture of the three girls and Georgie's dad.

"Don't worry, I'm only sending it to Javy. He's been sending me pictures of the boys all morning."

"Alright," Georgie nodded. "Let's go to my wedding."

"It's still not too late to run," Lainey said, as they waited outside the doors of the church. "Are you sure about this?"

"I have never been so sure about anything in my life," Georgie replied calmly.

"She's crying again," Phoenix reported. "Lainey, pull yourself together, you can't turn up to your best friend's wedding in tears."

"I know, but even when they aren't in the same room, they're just so CUTE!" she exclaimed. "Okay, I'm ready."

As if on cue, the priest opened the church door, and Georgie gripped her dad's arm tighter.

The walk up the aisle was a blur, and the next thing Georgie knew, she was taking Jake's hands and it was time for them to recite their vows.

Georgie went first.

"As a pilot, I'm used to flying into unknown territory, and this certainly counts among the big ones. But there's nothing like returning to see the familiar tarmac of your home runway. Jake, you are my landing lights, and I promise that no matter how dark or confusing life gets, I will always fly back to you."

There was a ripple of awwwws throughout the crowd, and Georgie shot a quick glance behind her to see that Lainey was crying again.

Then, it was Jake's turn.

"I've always been a competitive person, and adults used to tell me that it would never get me anywhere, but that's not true, because the day I graduated Top Gun, it got me you. Georgie, you have always been the person to push me further than I thought I could go, and I promise to continue to push forwards, and to love you, on purpose, for the rest of my life."

She squeezed his hands, now on the verge of tears herself.

The priest spoke up.

"Do you, Georgiana, take Jacob to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do."

"Do you, Jacob, take Georgiana to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do."

"Then I declare you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Their friends and family cheered as they kissed for the first time as husband and wife.

The other highlight in a day of highlights was the speech Lainey made at the reception, which, true to form, she had only begun preparing around 18 hours before.

"First of all, ladies, gentlemen, and those who know better, this speech is sponsored by pictures from the Jonas brothers group chat." She gestured behind her to where a screen was displaying a slideshow of pictures of Georgie, some with friends, others on her own.

"For those of you wondering, I'm Joe, Georgie is Nick and Nat is Kevin," she informed the crowd.

"Georgiana... how do I begin to explain Georgiana? Georgiana is flawless. She has two Fendi purses and a silver Lexus. I hear her hair's insured for $10,000. I hear she does car commercials... in Japan. Her favourite movie is Varsity Blues. One time, she met John Stamos on a plane... and he told her she was pretty. One time, she punched me in the face... it was awesome."

Georgie was beside herself at the Mean Girls reference, a movie she and Lainey had often watched together.

"Okay, in all seriousness, I first approached Georgie ten years ago to ask if I could borrow a pencil. I left with a copy of the homework assignment, a hair tie, a new pencil, and a new best friend. I have often thought that Jake does not deserve Georgie, but as time as passed, I have seen how well he treats her, and I have changed my mind. I cried more times than Georgie did this morning, and I think that is a testament to the strength of their relationship, long may it last. Georgie, Jake, I love you both, and I hope that you get the fairytale ending you deserve. Thank you."

And they all lived happily ever after. The end.
