"You're seeing another girl, Walker?" A voice pulled Fallon out of her head, she quickly stepped back and pulled her hand away as a guy with a hood stared at them. He looked very intimidating and she had never felt so unsafe in her life at that moment, she was just warming up to boys! So why was it now that she felt like her life was threatened?
"That's none of your concern, Lucas." Chris glared at the boy who moved closer towards the girl, Chris's knuckles almost turned white on his steering wheel as the tension grew.
Fallon just stood there observing the tension between the boys and she noticed how panicked Lloyd looked, unlike the calm face he had just a few seconds ago. Lucas was somehow a threat to these boys, but why? She wanted to know everything about them but why? She felt a tug at her heart and something in her gut told her to get in the car, she couldn't understand why she needed to get into the car. Why should she trust these two schoolboys whom she had just met a few minutes ago, it was better than being stuck with Lucas.
"I can't tell you what to do, but I suggest you get in the car for your safety," Chris turned his attention to the girl in front of him whose eyebrows scrunched together.
"Ah, safety?" Lucas came closer to Fallon which resulted in her clutching her bag tightly, he looked her up and down before turning to Chris who looked like he was going to get out of the car any second. "I don't think I'm a big threat, but it's so flattering you think so! So who is she? Someone important? She's got to be important since you've been trying to get her in your car for what? 5 minutes?"
"I'm not important," The words flew right out her mouth as she widened her eyes in shock, she didn't expect herself to talk back to the guy but her heart was speaking before her mind could for the first time.
"Oh, she speaks!" He chuckled staring at the girl with a sick grin on his face. "Now that I think about it, you do look familiar!"
"Get in, last chance princess." Chris looked at Fallon in desperation, waiting for her to say yes but finally under different circumstances.
Fallon didn't waste a second as she got into the car through the other side where Lloyd was, she sat in the seat behind him as Chris immediately sped off leaving Lucas smirking at the sidewalk. This was the part where she could finally ask questions, where she knew she would be finally getting to school promptly. There was still something in her gut that, questioned if she would even make it to school after this incident.
The ride was silent for 5 minutes, she was debating on speaking up but she didn't want to be disrespected if she asked about it. She wanted to avoid all forms of disagreement because she really didn't want any problem with boys. In that moment the questions began to suffocate her though, she needed answers and she knew she wasn't going to get them from sitting there with her mouth shut.
"Guys, I don't mean to intrude-"
"Well, that's a relief we were beginning to think you weren't going to ask." Lloyd chuckled making Fallon frown.
"If you don't mind me asking," She spoke switching glances between Lloyd and Chris. "Who was that guy? Why did you want me in your car?"
The boys made a wrong turn which she caught because she memorized this neighborhood so well there couldn't possibly be anything they could do to distract her from it.
"This isn't the way to school," Her lips quivered as fear slowly poured inside her, she knew she should've just ignored them and started walking. Why did she listen to her mom?
