Duncan POV:
As I was being pulled by Courtney to my own apartment, my stomach felt weird. But not the bad weird.
A good weird
I gave her the room number as she continued to hold my hand down the hall, even though there was nothing to be scared of after we got off the elevator,
But hey, I'm not complaining.
Once we finally got there, she let go. I feel like a part of me lost itself but I brushed it off. She moved out the way so I could unlock the door and I shot her a small nod. I inserted the key card in the pad and opened the door.
Courtney's eyes widened.
Courtney's POV:
So I let go of Duncan's hand. I mean, what was I supposed to do? Just continue holding onto his warm, luscious hand? I think he wanted me to let go anyway. I mean, would you want your ex holding your hand after you haven't spoken for more than 2 years? Especially after how things ended off and how they'd probably moved on...
Snap out of it Courtney! You're better than this.
Your better than him.
I watched as Duncan unlocked his apartment door, and my expectations were low.
Posters all over the house, skulls imprinted on the walls, fake blood or actual blood on the floor. Just as he said he wanted it to be when we were talking about our future in the total drama.
FLASHBACK:
"So the walls are gonna be pitch black, the neighborhood posters, we could do fake blood on the floor or we could use yours."
I slapped him on the arm and he laughed.
The stupid yet cute ass smile.
"Hell no. We are doing it my way."
He laughed once again and smirked.
"Tell me your way princess."
"White walks, gray wooden floor, Marble kitchen counters, black and white furniture, white decorations, gray window curtains, glass shower door..."
"Alright princess slow your roll, where does my stuff come in?"
I rolled my eyes and smirked at Duncan.
"When I agree to it which, I haven't!"
"Well I didn't agree to your fancy idea either."
I stood up,
He stood up.
I walked up to him.
He came closer to me.
I went into his face and said,
"That's your problem, we are doing it. FINAL." I gave off a mad but evil smirk.
"Oh yea? Let's see about that." He said while coming closer, I gulped. It felt too close for an argument. But I kind of liked it.
Now we were eye to eye, nose to nose. So I did the only thing left to do.
Push him back down into the couch.
I don't think I've laughed that hard at his angry facial expression, until he pulled me down on his lap.
Now we were face to face, and I started sweating.
He smirked and pulled me into a kiss. Even when I tried to escape, he pulled in for more.
But hey, I kind of liked it.
PRESENT:
As the door opened, my eyes widened.
His apartment was actually NICE?!
I couldn't believe my eyes, was this real? This didn't feel like uncan.
"Ladies first." He said as he bowed down.
I rolled my eyes and smirked at his "niceness". But still fazed by the decorations, the floor, the curtains. They were all modern.
No blood, no posters, the walls being a dark gray color.
I took off my shoes before fully entering as Duncan closed the door behind him.
I held up my shoes and stood in front of him. Now realizing he had grown way taller than me.
"Where should I put these?"
He looked confused.
"Near the door...?"
So I set them next to the door.
"Where should I put my bag?"
Another confused facial expression.
"On the counter or if you want, my room."
I shook at the two last words.
"What do you mean your room? I'm supposed to be sleeping on the couch or the floor. And definitely not next to you."
Another stupid laugh came out of Duncan, when he was finally done, he looked down at me. HE came closer, and my sweating started.
"One, you're not sleeping either. You can sleep on my bed. I'm gonna sleep in my roommate's room. He's on a trip right now and I don't think he'll wanna know a girl slept on his bed, or at least another girl."
My confused look gave him the notification to explain.
"He has a girlfriend."
Silence filled the room.
"Trust me, he's gonna know you slept there."
"Ohhhhh yea it's fine. Thank you by the way for letting me stay here."
"Of course, it's the least I can do."
We awkwardly stared at each other, it was almost three in the morning and there was not much to talk about.
Duncan then blinked and led me to his room.
It smelled so nice, like a really good air freshener, probably vanilla, and some cologne. Nice and tidy, huge bed, big tv, big dresser, big everything.
"Well this is it."
I shook my head and gave a smile.
"I'm surprised. This actually looks decent."
"Hey! I spent over a thousand on this room, more than this whole apartment. Don't complain." He said with of course, a smirk.
I chuckled a bit.
"I'm just kidding."
Another awkward moment of silence came on.
"You know I'm not really tired, you can have it. I think i'm going to just lay on the couch and leave in a couple hours. I'll get an Uber or something to come get me in the morning-"
I felt Duncan's arm grab onto me, not hard, actually very soft. I felt my cheeks start to rise and turn a bit red.
"Courtney. I got you. Go get some rest or just watch tv in the room or something. Ill make sure to drop you safely. Even if you want to leave now. Don't hesitate to ask. Don't worry about anything."
The reassurance, the arm grab was just everything.
No court! Don't do this!
Don't fall for it again.
