This is another angst chapter, it involves accidental death

It's 3 am, let's just get straight into it.

Eddie's POV

Josh dragged everyone here. To the clown motel. The scary ass place right next to the old as the fucking hills graveyard. I had a feeling things weren't gonna go well, and all I wanted to do was go home, but I had to at least try and stay the night there. My nerves were all over the place, and I threw up in the washroom in the giftshop because of the build up of stress and anxiety this place made me feel.

"Hey Eddie, come here real quick." Dose called me over, and signaled that he wanted me to follow him. He led me to his room and shut the door behind us, pulling something out of his backpack once he got over to his bed.

"What is that?" I asked, looking at the blob of what looked to be colorful ripped up fabric.

"It's a clown costume, obviously." He snickered, and I was starting to get uncomfortable with his energy.

"Why did you bring that?" I asked, and I did not like the grin I got as a response whatsoever.

"You're gonna wear it to scare the shit out of the Boys when they go out to the graveyard." He laughed, unfolding it all the way to show it to me.

"Look it even comes with a mask and gloves." Dose said, his excitement towards this idea was similar to a child's and it worried me.

"No I don't want to do that, it's scary enough just being in a graveyard in the first place, plus if the Boys don't know it's me then I might get hurt." I explained, but Dose shook his head. It looked like he wasn't going to take no for an answer and I frowned.

"I'll pay you." He suggested, but I shook my head just as he did.

"I don't want your money, I want your understanding. I don't want to do it." I said, and my tone switched so I sounded slightly more aggravated than I actually was.

"Come on please? You'll be fine I promise. I'll intervene if something bad is about to happen." He said, practically begging at this point.

I rolled my eyes and agreed.

Once it was time to head out to the graveyard, I told the Boys that I really didn't want to go, I was feeling sick. They were sceptical to begin with, but Dose backed up my lie by saying that I would be staying with him and to call him if anything goes wrong, they nodded and were off.

They were right in the middle of the graveyard by the time I finished getting the costume on, and I just started slowly walking towards them.

It took a good two minutes to get within earshot, and I realized I had been spotted.

"Who the fuck is that?" Juicy yelled, pointing at me.

"Kay, Josh, call Dose." Narrator said, pointing a gun in my direction.

I was about to take my mask off, but as soon as my hands went above my waist, Narrator shot the gun in the air and then pointed it back it me.

"The next bullet is going in your fucking skull if you move again." Narrator yelled.

"He's not picking up, Narrator." Josh said.

"Call again" Narrator yelled, never once taking his eyes off me.

"Dose you picked up!" Josh said, his voice sounded like a mix of joy, panic, and relief when he spoke.

"Ask him if Eddie is with him. If he says yes I'm shooting this prick." Narrator said calmly, still staring into my soul.

"Dose says Eddie hasn't left his sight since we left to go to the graveyard." Josh said, his expression changed from uncertain to just straight up fear.

"Wait no it's me! Dose is fucking lying!" I cried, but with how muffled my voice was because of the mask I tried to take a step closer so I could be within earshot to them, but Narrator shot the ground right in front of me as I went to take a step forward.

I heard the bullet go through my foot before I felt it, it was a sickening sound, like when someone got stabbed in a horror movie, and once I felt it, it fucking hurt.

I screamed out in pain and cursed, falling on the ground and holding my foot, and I watched as Narrator lifted the gun, aiming it to my head.

"No wait!" Juicy screamed, stepping in front of me as Narrator shot the second and third bullet.

Everyone screamed, except for Narrator, who dropped the gun on the grass and fell down on his knees, realizing what he had done instantly, and me, who started at Juicy's body silently as I felt tears wet my cheeks.

"Juicy why did you do that?" Josh screamed, kneeling over his friend, grabbing his hand while Juicy heaved shallow breaths with difficulty.

"W-What do I do?" Josh sobbed, seeing the blood gush out of his friend's chest.

"Someone call 911!" Mully yelled, patting his pockets and panicking when he couldn't find his phone.

"The closest hospital is more than an hour away, they wouldn't get here in time, even with a chopper. There's nothing we can do." Narrator whispered, staring at the ground.

"E-Eddie... the mask... take it off." Juicy breathed, pointing at me with the hand that Josh wasn't holding tightly.

I started sobbing as I slowly lifted the mask off my face, as soon as I did, Juicy smiled at me and laughed.

"Hey, I was r-right, I'm glad." Juicy laughed, coughing.

"You just took a bullet because of a gut feeling?" Josh continued to scream while sobbing, and Juicy nodded and laughed again.

"I-I'm sorry, Dos... He begged me to do it." I cried, slowly walking towards Juicy, whose face was pale, and when I touched his face to wipe the tears and grabbed his other hand, his body was cold.

"He promised to step in before something went wrong, I-I don't know why he lied like that when you called him, Josh I swear!" I cried when I saw Josh look up at me with poorly hidden spite and anger.

Narrator pulled his phone out of his pocket and called Dos, and his voice was dark when he spoke.

"I hope you're happy Dos. Call a cab to get home. I don't want to see you when we get back." Narrator said, hanging up before Dos could get a word in.

"Juicy I'm sorry." I cried, bringing my head down to touch his forehead against mine, and he leaned into it and smiled, closing his eyes.

"It's okay, it was an accident." He laughed, still with his eyes closed.

"Don't you fucking dare leave me Juice." Josh cried, and Juicy opened his eyes to look at Josh, his eyes were dim and his smile was weak, but he smiled anyway, he was dying, but he smiled anyway, like always, he smiled anyway.

"I'm sorry, I can't- I- I'll be at the motel." Mully sniffed, his voice was higher than normal, and he cleared his throat to sound normal, and he walked away, trying his best not to look at his friend. He was never fond of seeing things die, whether it was a plant or a person, something about things dying fucking destroyed him, so he couldn't watch.

It hurt Mully to leave, but he was afraid of goodbye, so he never said it. Even when they were on the phone, it was never goodbye, it was always see you soon, or talk to you later, but never goodbye.

Narrator's expression was cold, it was clear that he hid his emotions well, even from himself. He whispered goodbye, a word he had said and heard one too many times, and followed Mully to the motel.

Juicy had died before Narrator left, Josh knew it, but he didn't let go. He clung to Juicy's chest and sobbed, and I stood up, leaving Josh to be alone with his friend. I knew I needed to leave, I knew that there were words that Josh could never say, that needed to be said, I did the same thing as Narrator, I whispered goodbye and limped to the motel. I left the two boys in the graveyard, knowing that only one would come back.
