I was sent to follow Rose for the rest of the day and start training after school. She needed all the time she could get. Vasilissa was lead away, Rose watching her as she went, I was watching Rose to make sure she did not bolt.
First they sent Rose to one of the guidance counselors. I hoped I would not have to tackle her already for being on bad behavior. this was going to be interesting. the counselor was an really old Moroi guy, I had no clue who he was, but Rose must have remembered him, from the look on her face. he was really old and looked like he should have retired. or died.
The visit took five minutes. the old guy asked nothing about where Rose was or why she was here. only a few questions about what classes she would like to take and what she took in Chicago and Portland. he compared them to the ones on file and quickly wrote a new schedule. Rose took it sullenly and headed out to her first class. she did not notice me or did not care. I looked over her shoulder at her list, it was easy to do when you where this tall.
1st period. Advanced guardian combat techniques
2nd period. Bodyguard theory and personal protection 3
3rd period. Weight training and conditioning
4th period. Senior language arts (novices)
Lunch
5th period. Animal behavior and physiology
6th period. Precalculus
7th period. Moroi culture 4
8th period Slavic art
Yay this was also what I got to do all day. not that the guardians actually took the classes but we stood blank faced on the walls. Rose might even get to see Vasilissa since no one took Slavic art, witch means that I get to make sure they don't make a break for it.
Alberta and I escorted Rose to the guardians gym for the first class. neither Alberta or I talking to Rose.
Rose walked behind us, sometimes when I looked back to make sure she did not run away, you could she her looking at Alberta's molnija marks. she could not see mine today I wore my hair down. we walked along and did not talk like it was just another day. When we arrived at the gym, the reactions of the class was great. murmurs and whispers broke out as people stared. guardians and guardians in training were usually good at keeping a straight face. This class was in the middle of setting up the gym as we arrived, and all eyes fell on Rose. Alberta, who had better things to do, was leaving the gym, I lined the wall as close as I could get to Rose, just incase something happened, she was on my watch.Rose scanned the open mouth, jaw dropped novices.
"Hey Mason," it was Rose talking. great. this was going to be a bad day. or week. "wipe that drool off your face. if your going to think about me naked do it on your own time."a couple snorts or sinkers broke out the awed silence, Mason ashford, one of the few really good novices that could have graduated last year, snapped out of his haze, giving Rose a lopsided smile. his messy, red hair scattered everywhere falling to one side. I remembered that he was one of Rose's close friends, since most girl dhampires did not become guardians to have kids or there parents did not let them go to the academy with there brothers. they stayed in places with other blood whores. That just made me melt because that was like my family. I was the only male, my dad was abusing my mom so i punched home when I was ten and I never saw him again. I had three sisters and a mom and, a grandma who had a strong belief that only men should fight for a living and girls go have kids. though my mom still wants them to learn how to fight.
"This is my time, Hathaway. I'm running today's session."
"Oh yeah?" Rose shot back. "huh. well, I guess this is a good time to think about me naked, then." was this the real Rose? Yikes! I had to spend most of my time with her.
