"Rose, Rose, wake up or what ever! Roza." Russian really Dimitri, really, "Rose? Rose?"

Rose blinked and looked at me, she studied what was going on I was leaning in hands on her shoulders, she was staring at me, and breathing heavily as if she just had a mental war.

"Are you all right?" I asked, concern in my eyes and voice.

"I... yeah. I was... I was with Lissa...." she put a hand to her forehead. " I was in her head."

What? That made no sense "her... head?" I stammered.

"Ueah. it's part of the bond." she didn't elaborate.

I had to ask, she is my charge after all, "is she all right?"

"Yeah she's...." she stopped and thought. that was not a good sign. "she not in danger," Rose finally declared.

"Can you keep going?" It was general curiosity on my voice, along with the hope that she could. I was concerned and let that show.i was truely and utterly concerned. more than I should have been. She was beautiful, to gorgeous for her own good. I studied her eyes to make her know that I needed or know. Her eyes were so deep I could swim in the sea of brown. Dimitri snap out of it! No way can you fall for your student! It was bad enough that you froze when you first saw her! I scolded my self.

"Yeah. I'm fine."

When we got to the gym, she got changed, as I read a western novel on the mat.

Rose walked over and suggested we not do trainings today. I laughed so hard, I thought it was a joke.

"Whys so funny?" She demanded

"Oh," I felt so embarrassed, my smile dropped."you were serious."

Her face showed disgust and that she was angry, " of course I was! Look, I've technically been awake for two days. why do we have to start this training now? Let me go to bed. it's just one hour." she whined.

I stood up crossed my arms and looked down at her from my lofty hight. angry that she was not serious. "how do you feel right now? With the training you've done so far?" I already knew they answer I watched her get beaten up all day.

"I hurt like hell."

"You'll feel worse tomorrow."

"So?"

"So,better to jump in now while you still fell... not as bad."

"What kind of logic is that?" She spat.

I led her to weight training room. I showed her the weights and reps I wanted her to do, then sprawled in the corner with my novel. looking over my book at times to stare at her. she was amazing and with a great deal of work could be very lethal. as soon as she was done I stood beside her and shown her the cool down stretches.

"How did you end up as Lissa's guardian? you weren't here a few years ago. were you even trained at this school?" Memories slammed into me from either side, my Moroi turned Strigoi unwillingly, he was my best friend, and the other guardian was killed when I was away on some trip thing.

"No. I attended the one in Siberia." not wanting to tell the truth.

"Whoa. that's got to be the only place worse than Montana."

I smiled, I was amused that she could make me smile. I continued to tell her though I have no clue why,"after I graduated, I was a guardian for a Zeklos Lord, he was killed recently." my smile turned to a frown,I was so sad,he was best friend. I miss him so much."they sent me here because they needed extras on campus. when the princess turned up, they assigned me to her, since I'd already be around. not that it matters until she leaves campus."

She thought about it then asked,"did this lord die on your watch?"

"No. he was with his other guardian. I was away." he had told me that I was to not guard him that day. I never took a break, but when I came back, I was certain that I would never stop fighting. he was gone and the guardian died. we are more or less only human, we are not invincible. if I was there it would not have happened, I should have been there.

"Hey," I looked up at Rose, "did you help come up with the plan to get us back? Because it was pretty good. brute force and all that."

I arched my eyebrow curiously. was she complimenting me?" You're  complimenting me on that?"

"Well, it was a hell of a lot better than the last one they tried." what?

"Last one?"

"Yeah. in Chicago. with the pack of psi-hounds." what? When did this happen?

"This was the first time we found you. in Portland." she sat up from her stretches and crosses her legs, I did the same."um. I don't think I imagined psi-hounds. who else could have sent them? They only answer to Moroi. maybe no one told you about it."

"Maybe," I did not believe that. and she could tell. why could she tell? How could she get me to talk?

We split ways after that odd note. Well sort of, I followed her from a distance, till I saw her enter her dorm. Then turned and headed back for mine.

I got ready for dinner, get changed and have a shower, and what not. After eating in the staff room I had to monitor the commons. Standing and guarding by a wall is not that much fun, but I liked to watch Rose and her friends chat and have a good time.

After my shift I got ready for bed. I positioned my self on my bed-that was almost to small-and read my western novel. I have this strange thing with westerns and how they can live freely and still do what they want. Soon I dowsed off and had one of the best nights rest-with no night mares, witch I get a lot of since I lost my charge and best friend-in a long time.

The next morning I woke up earlier than normal, of course not forgetting that I had Rose to teach, how could I forget! After getting ready I head to the gym for morning practice. I got there just on time, but, of course, Rose didn't she was late. By five minutes.

I gave her my best surprised look and stated "you showed up!" In mock surprise.

" of course I did, comrade!" That name made my heart flutter as I internally scolded my self.again. " but I broke the alarm clock." She replied sheepishly with a slight blush.

"How do you brake your alarm clock?" I seriously wanted to know.

"I kinda forgot where I was and that I had training and I threw it across the room because it was being annoying and making noise."  I luaghed. But why? Ugh! Belikov! Stop! I scold myself. The rest of practice pasted non-eventfully, thank god! Except that Rose looked like she was gonna faint. It worried me but I made sure to let it not show.

I followed Rose around as I was told to do so all day. I almost broke when I heard Rose call me her 'Russian Jailor'. Oh! This was going to be a great year. I thought to myself when I was back in my dorm room. Full smile unleashed.
