CHAPTER - 22

Y/N POV -

You again stood in front of the court. You stared at the building; this place became utterly familiar from last few months. You didn't wanted to go inside but with heavy steps you finally started walking. Walking inside, you noticed officer Park with other officers. Officer Park noticed you and smiled. You were shocked because this was the first time you saw him smiling like that. A cute little dimple formed on his left cheek, and you couldn't help but return a small smile. The intimidating tall man was looking all cute with full smile and the sight melted your heart.

What surprised you more is that Officer Park approached you himself. You stood in your place to hear him.

"Hey." Officer Park greeted you and continued further.

"Don't worry much. I know you're innocent. Everything will be fine. And S-Sorry. I mean for the earlier things." Officer Park stutter gulping down and walked away. You stared at him in confusion. What was going on? You couldn't understand. Couple of days ago both men visited you at night asking you questions and today Officer Park was all sweet toward you.

You only understood later when you saw Jia with Joshua in court as a witness in Isabella murder case. You were still in suspect list but not as a major suspect. After long time you felt happy.

After the court was dismissed, Jia ran toward you with big smile followed by Joshua. You picked Jia in your arm immediately. Jia placed a small kiss on your cheek while engulfing you in a hug.

"How are you baby?" You asked as Jia hide her face in your neck. She didn't replied to you but you felt your shoulder getting wet and you realised Jia was crying.

"What happened sweetheart?" You asked with concern rubbing her back. You gently removed her face from your neck to see tears coating her cheek. You stared into her big glossy eyes.

"Happy to see you." Jia said again burying her face into your neck. You smiled at her reply feeling bit relieved that it wasn't something bad. Your hold on Jia tightened feeling warm in your heart. However, Joshua gently tugged on Jia taking her away from you.

"Sorry to bother you." Joshua said looking at you. You watched Joshua taking Jia away from you. Joshua walked toward his car. You saw Jia looking at you with sad eyes. Joshua kept Jia inside the car and he himself walked toward the driver seat. You kept looking at the duo standing still.

TIME SKIP -

Couple of weeks passed and one day in morning you got call from Dino.

'You saw the news?' Dino asked from another end.

'No, why?' You said waking up while rubbing your eyes.

'Then watch. Everything is now fine Y/n.' Dino talked short before ending the call. You were confused, so you turned on the television.

Your mouth remained open seeing the news. The murderer in Isabella Hong murder case has been caught. Some drug addict named David who was probably Isabella's one of boyfriend, murdered her. You remembered the day clearly. She was talking with someone angrily over the phone it was possible that she was talking to him. Jia was the one who saw him with Isabella multiple times. You shivered thinking about how dangerous it was. Isabella let the Stanger enter in their house when the small girl was in house. What if something wrong would have happened to Jia? The night of murder Jia was alone with Isabella, what if that crazy bastard has harmed Jia also that night? A lone tear slipped from your eye thinking about how you drove all the way to Seoul from Busan just to ensure Jia's safety that day. However, Jia wasn't even safe in her own house with her own mother.

You again called Dino to ask everything in detail. David really was Isabella's boyfriend, and he was drug addict. That night they were fighting about money. Isabella used to provide him money, but she caught him cheating with her and refused to give him money anymore. Which is why he barged into the house, and both had a heated argument. Due to anger David killed Isabella and also deleted CCTV footage after that. The guards were out for dinner which made it easier for him to plot the things. Initially Officer Park didn't take much of initiative to investigate this case but since couple of weeks ago he started actively looking into it and that's how he found him out. Finally, the case was resolved. Isabella's own habits caused her harm.

You cried a lot that day. Finally, you were at peace. You were able to go back to Busan now, you thought. Again, you weren't going to see Joshua or Jia. Jung kook was already away from you forever.

The last date for case was announced. You were supposed to attend it tomorrow. You started packing your stuff at night. You emptied your messy handbag to rearrange it. The sight of daisy bracelet and diamond ring caught your sight. One was gift from an unknown person and another one from Jung kook. The ring was beautiful and all yours to claim. Jung kook still talked to you and he was still the sweetest person ever exist. The proposal was still open from his side, you just needed to wear the ring. Meanwhile the daisy bracelet was unique and special. No matter how many times you tried to get rid of it, it always came back to you in the end. The unknown object had it's own place in your heart. You stood up and took both the things with you. You came toward the nightstand near bed and opened one drawer putting both things in it. You shut the drawer close as you decided to start a completely new life. You packed your stuff and snuggled into the bed.

Next day you visited court. The suspect was proven to be a murderer. Your innocence was proven the same day as you were now completely free from this mess. You completed all the important paperwork by evening and were all set to go back to Busan. You came back to apartment and took a good look at the apartment. This place was your home since last few months. You already cleaned the whole apartment. You finally closed the curtains of gigantic glass balcony. You were grateful toward Jung kook for everything. Without him things would've became worse for you all this day. You took your luggage out and closed the door of apartment behind you.

You finally breathed out with relief and clutched on to the handle of luggage. However, turning around you saw Joshua standing few feet away from you with tears in his eyes.
