3 days later -
Waking up the next morning someone was standing over me again, "Amber! Amber! Amber! Elizabeth said I could get a horse!" I sat up quickly blinking a couple times. "What?" Iris climbed down from my bed jumping in a circle. "Elizabeth said you would take me to get a horse!"
I looked at the entrance of my small tent where Elizabeth was with a nervous smile. She waved at me before speaking. "I'm sorry Amber, I didn't think she was gonna come wake you up now to go get a horse. You know I can't exactly run right now." She gestured to the wrap on her leg, I nodded. I grabbed my black hat from the stand beside my bed before standing up. "So, are we going!?" Iris said, turning to her I looked back at Elizabeth for a moment before speaking.
"Sure, I mean who wants to break a promise to a little girl anyways?" She giggled walking out of the tent, Elizabeth moved to the side a bit letting me out as well. "Where are we getting this money?" I stopped to look at her for a moment, soon she retrieved some money from her satchel and handed it to me. "There it is, now have fun." As she started to walk away, I placed my hand on her shoulder.
"Woah there, Eliza, I think it's only right that you come too." She turned looking at me, I looked over at the wagon then back to her. "We can take the wagon, so you don't hurt yourself riding a horse, and we can get anything Penny might need for cooking." Elizabeth smiled at me. "Thank you, Amber." She turned and started limping her way over to the horses to get Patricia ready. I made my way over to Penny who was working on making some food. She removed her gaze from the celery she was cutting, smiling she began to speak. "Amber, do you need something to eat? We have plenty of food if you need some." I shook my head walking around to the other side of the table in front of her. "No, I'm good Miss Amos, I was just wondering if you needed me to pick up anything in town?"
She looked at me with a raised brow before turning around and grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, laying it down on the table she began to write on it. After a few minutes she handed me the paper before speaking. "Everything I need should be there, oh, and if you wouldn't mind picking up some more of those candy's you got last time that would be great. Ghale and Brandy really liked them."
I chuckled, scanning the list for a moment before placing it in my satchel. "I'll see what I can do." Penny's gaze turned to her left, hearing Iris run up beside me, she was dressed in her blue jeans, white shirt, and tan vest that we got her not too long ago. Her hair was up in her usual half up, half down style.
"Your chipper, what for?" Penny asked, raising a brow. I grinned, looking back to Penny before speaking. "We're going to get this one a horse." I patted the top of Iris's head causing her to smile. Penny placed her hands on her hips with a small grin on her face. "I see you have Miss Morgan wrapped around your finger, don't you?" I rolled my eyes, looking down at Iris while speaking. "Actually, Eliza's buying this one for her, not me." Penny returned to chopping the celery waving her hand, gesturing for us to leave. "I wouldn't wanna keep Elizabeth waiting any longer, go, and don't forget the candy." I nodded, turning with Iris, making our way over to the horses.
"What horse are you looking for? Specific breed, color?" Iris looked up at me for a moment while continuing to walk. "I am not sure yet, I really like Neal, his black and white coloring." We stopped by the wagon, turning to her, I looked at Neal. "I think I saw a black and white paint horse down at the stables," Soon Elizabeth hobbled her way over to us, looking at Iris she gave a small smile. "Are you two ready to find ourselves a horse?" Elizabeth added. Iris ran around to the back of the wagon hopping on. I looked at Elizabeth for a moment before speaking. "You think you can get up there? I'm sure Iris won't mind you riding back there with her." Elizabeth rolled her eyes making her way to the back while speaking. "I'm fine, but I wouldn't mind sitting with Iris."
