Chapter 3: Surprise Sleepover

It was around five in the evening. Meaning around three hours for our sleepover is about to start. Thankfully, I finished all the presents for everyone else including Dogday's since I felt like he needed something special. I got out of my home, without letting anyone spot me. (knock,knock) There was no answer which was weird. "Maybe he's not home," I thought. I walked around his home and saw a forest behind his home. "Maybe he's in there," I mumbled. I walked into the forest and it was a calming nature walk. I went deeper and deeper and not noticing that the sun was going down. It felt like an hour since I walked until I've been hit with a strong smell.

(sniff,sniff) "Is that lavender and...(sniff,sniff) VANILLA!" I instantly recognized that smell. It was Dogday's natural scent. I hurried through the forest going deeper and deeper until the smell has gotten more stronger and closer. I found a field of flowers (sniff,sniff). "This is lavender...but where is Dogday?" I looked around worried where he is. I walked around the wonderful field of flowers with my own signature scent. "Dogday was right. I do smell nice. And this field of flowers proved it," I thought as I am still walking around trying to find Dogday.

I then spot a silhouette of what it seems to be a large animal. I went closer and was Dogday laying down. "DOGDAY!" I thought the worst has come. I thought he was hurt until.

I hear him breathing. He was actually asleep. Very weird of him. I never thought he would be sleeping in the daytime. "Dogday wake up," I said as I was shaking his body. He was beginning to open his eyes, "Huh...". Dogday got up. "It's not like you to sleep in the day, Dogday. Usually that would be me," I joked. Dogday rubs his eyes, already feeling wide awake, "Where are we?"

"We're at the forest behind your home. Why did you even came here?" He got up as I asked him a question. "I got bored and I wanted to explore this place," he answered. I was dumbfounded by that response. "So you just randomly wanted to explore the forest behind your home because you got bored?" I looked at him. "Yeah," he smiled. "I swear to god, he'll ended up getting lost in this place," I thought. "Okay, let's go Dogday." I insist. "To where?" Dogday asked. "Back home. I need to leave some stuff in your house and stay with you for a while until the others come," I answered. "What stuff are you leaving?" Dogday questioned as we walk back. "They're gifts for everyone else. It's my way of saying "I'm sorry" to them". We arrived back to Dogday's house. "Leave the door open Dogday. I'm gonna get the gifts as quickly as I can," I said. Dogday followed and waited for me.

We entered inside Dogday's home and I must say. It's pretty well decorated. The colors matched with Dogday persona. I took the gifs inside the kitchen, scavenging to see if every one of them were inside. "Okay, that's everyone," I mumbled. I look at the clock and it was six thirty. "Okay, one hour until the party starts. HEY DOGDAY!" I called out. Dogday came to the kitchen as fast as he could, "Yeah Catnap."

"I need your help," I begged. "Sure, what you need," Dogday acknowledged. "You see that bag over there." I pointed at the bag next to Dogday on the kitchen counter, "You mean this one." Dogday grabbed the bag, "Yeah. Inside there are ingredients that I'll need," I informed. "What for?" Dogday questioned. "They're for PickyPiggy gift. I'm making her her favorite dessert once we finish eating," I told. He took out all the ingredients, "Are you making...?" "Yeah, her favorite, Carrot Cake. She always love eating that." Dogday was in awe for what he heard, "Wow Catnap...you really cared about us." "Want to know a secret Dogday," I offered. "Sure," Dogday agreed. "Believe it or not. I paid close attention to everyone else, even to the smallest detail. Even if I was a cold blooded person who killed you all, I've never forgotten what all of you liked," I revealed.

I smiled brightly like Dogday and he did the same as well. "Okay so where do we start?" Dogday offered to help me, "So first we'll need to..."
