Darkness in me

Evie's Pov

We saw Ben, Mal and Jay sitting in the cafeteria. When they saw Carlos it was obvious they were scared. We sat down with them and they kept looking at Carlos. 

"Well.. are you gonna explain what we saw?" Jay asked 

Carlos looked at him with no emotion and that kinda scared me. It also scared Jay and Ben but not Mal. 

"I didn't tell you all something."

"You all know my mother but not my father." He continued

"Do you know him?" Ben asked and he sighed

"I can't say." 

Ben and Jay exchanged worried glances. Mal rolled her eyes and looked at Carlos casually.

"So what are you?" She asked

"You don't seem scared of me." He said and she shrugged

"I'm Maleficent daughter, I'm not scared of anything."

"Well that does make sense your name does mean evil." He said and she nodded

"I'm a demon." 

Ben and Jay jumped back with their eyes widen. Mal also looked taken back but came closer. 

"Show us your eyes." 

"With pleasure." He smirked

His eyes flashed and once again we saw his demonic, red eyes. Ben shivered in fear and Mal looked at him in interest.

"So your father is Satan?" She asked

Carlos was surprised by her remark but quickly snapped out of it. He looked at me then Mal and then Ben and Jay.

"Yes." He calmly said and I jumped up

"What! You didn't tell me that. You said you didn't know." I said and he looked up at me

"I said I couldn't tell you. You didn't guess." He said with almost no emotion

"Well this is interesting." Mal smirked and I looked at her in shock

"Interesting?! Interesting!" I shouted

Thankfully we were the only ones in the cafeteria.

"My boyfriend is the son of Satan and this is interesting!!" I shouted again and Carlos jumped up to me

"Look Eves it's ok. I would never hurt you." He took my hand and I calmed down under his touch

He sharply turned to the boys and Mal.

"Any of you." He said and then sat me down

"As long as you don't mess with me." He smirked and the guys quickly nodded

He laughed then looked at me. Soon I could see the concern and worry in his eyes. 

"Do you still-"

"Yes. It won't change." I cut him off and he smiled

"Wait I wanna know one more thing." I said and he nodded

"Anything."

"Is there more of you, your kind?" I asked 

He thought for a while but soon slowly nodded.

"Back on the isle, there was somewhere we would all stay because well we're demons. We couldn't stay in the habits where you guys did. So we were under the surface and I think you all know this. We were in hell." He explained

"Ok is there anything else you have to tell me?"

Once again he was consumed with thoughts. Jay and Ben looked at him waiting for an answer. Mal was playing with her nails and yawned obviously bored. He shook his head and the guys exhaled in relief.

"Nope. I would tell you about my powers but I think you guys wouldn't want to-"

"Tell us!" Ben and Jay both said

Mal looked up and nodded.

"Yeah I wanna know too." 

"Fine. We all know about vampires and werewolves and blah blah blah. We are stronger, faster and we process special powers. Each demon has their own signature and power that is deep inside them. I don't think you all want to know what I have." He smirked

"What is it?" Jay said clearly interested

"You sure?" Carlos said and we all nodded

"Darkness." 

Mal smiled but we winced. 

"There are also angels. They're our enemy. They cast us to hell to rot and suffer!" His voice echoed and I shivered

"Well not me, cuz I'm his son. But unfortunately, I didn't see my father much. So I left but before I did, I received a ring."

He showed us the ring and we all looked in awe.

"This helps keep my powers in check and so I can survive the conditions up here." He pulled the ring away.

"That's it." 

"That's it?"

"That's it." 

Mal clapped her hands together and leaned on Jay's shoulder. Carlos looked at them and smiled

"So it finally happened then." He said and Jay nodded

"Nice." They hugged and he pat his back

"What you mean nice? You were rooting for Jay." Ben crossed his hands and we all laughed

"Yep, sorry man." 

"Also Jay, if you hurt her I will KILL you." He said and Jay laughed

He kept laughing but Carlos kept a straight, serious face. He stopped laughing. We all laughed

"And you'd have to answer to me." I said and he put his hands up

"Ok, ok! I wouldn't hurt her anyway." He kissed her forehead

Carlos turned to me but swiftly looked away holding his head.

"Are you ok?" I rubbed his shoulder

He shook his head. It was like something was rotting in him. Like Darkness. 

"I'm fine." He took my hand and gave it a squeeze

"I need to talk to Mal tho." 

"Sure." She got up to hear what he had to say

Carlos' Pov

I took her hand and we went in a corner. She looked at me suspiciously, waiting for me to tell her.

"You're pure evil so you'll understand." 

She was still confused so I showed her my ring.

"It's flashing, it means that someone's coming."

"Who?" 

"Don't know but I need you ready."

"You're the only one here rather than me with powers and... Uma." I said and she groaned

"We need her help."

"Ok how do we know that she'd help us. And how would I be help. You're a demon, the son of Satan! I bet you even have a inhuman form that you use."

"Well.." She groaned again

"Pls. I need you." I gave her puppy eyes and her eyes soften

"Why do you guys do this to me." 

I laughed and hugged her. She hugged me back and gestured to go back. We sat back down as if nothing happened. They both looked at us suspiciously as if wanting to know what we were talking about

"I gotta go talk to Evie real quick.. I see you all later."

I grabbed her hand and she was still confused so I kissed her hand and smiled at her. We went to my dorm and I sat down next to her.

"Let's talk."
