I waved goodbye to Nat as she drove off, leaving me alone with my now-empty suitcases and boxes. The weight of my past, of Jake, of the apartment, felt lifted off my shoulders. I took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air, feeling a sense of freedom I hadn't felt in a long time.

As I stood on the front porch of Meredith's house, taking in the peaceful surroundings, a sense of calm washed over me. The chirping of birds in the distance and the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze created a soothing melody that filled the air. Closing my eyes, I let the warmth of the sun kiss my skin and listened to the quiet hum of life around me.

When I opened my eyes, I saw a figure walking towards me from down the street. It was a familiar face, one that brought a smile to my lips. It was Liam. As he approached, he enveloped me in a warm hug, his presence comforting and reassuring.

"I heard you moved out of your old place," Liam said with a grin. "Need any help settling in here?"

"How did you know that...it was Nat wasn't it." I said.

"Yeah she called me when she was driving to your old place." He said laughing.

Liam and I had formed a deep bond from the moment I moved to the states. Nat, my outgoing friend who seemed to make friends wherever she went, had introduced us. And from that day on, we were inseparable. Our friendship was built on late night conversations, endless laughter, and shared experiences. He was always there to lend an ear or offer a shoulder to cry on. And as I looked back on our journey together, I couldn't imagine what my life would have been like without him by my side. I think that before I got together with Jake I had a small crush on him, but i don't think that he ever felt the same way.

"I thought you lived in LA." I said confused.

"Nah, I moved back to Seattle about a month ago."

"How come?"

"Well, me and my girlfriend split up." He said shrugging his shoulders.

As Liam and I caught up on each other's lives, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for not keeping in touch with him more regularly. His presence was like a breath of fresh air, and I found myself opening up to him about my struggles with Jake, the breakup, and the emotional toll it had taken on me. Liam listened attentively, offering words of comfort and understanding that eased the weight on my shoulders.

After a moment of silence, he looked at me earnestly and said, "You know, you deserve so much better than what Jake put you through. Don't ever forget that."

His words resonated deep within me, stirring something inside that had long been dormant. It was a sense of self-worth, a reminder that I was worthy of love and respect. And in that moment, I felt a flicker of hope reignite within me.

"Do you want to come inside and grab a drink?" I offered realising that we had been sat outside on a bench for over an hour.

"Yeah sure."
