"...it was awful, she didn't say anything at all after I said." Nat says, sounding very frustrated.
"What? So you just sat there in silence?" I ask her, my eyebrows knitting together in confusion. I switch the phone from my left side to my right and precariously balance between my ear and shoulder as I continue to cook my dinner.
"Pretty much. It was so awkward." She says, sighing.
"Well I'm not surprised you did compare her to a spider." I said, trying not to laugh at the situation.
"I said that she had very nice long legs..."
"like a spider."
"like a spider. Exactly." She said, as though that comparison is supposed to be flattering or something.
"Nat, I don't know how to tell you this but calling someone an insect isn't a compliment." I say placing the food on my plate and walk over to the cutlery draw.
"Whatever," she says and I can just tell she was rolling her eyes whilst saying it. "I am gonna hang up now, its the end of my shift, I just have to deal with one more patient."
"Okay, I'll speak to you later."
"Ta rah, Charlie. "
And with that she hangs up, leaving me in the kitchen in silence.
Whilst I eat, I can't help but think that I maybe should have told Nat about Emily being at the hospital. But I didn't really want to cause her any more stress at the moment, plus she was ranting to me and I didn't want to interrupt her and make it all about myself instead of her.
After finishing my food and placing the dish into the dishwasher, I make my way up to my bed before swiftly falling asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

As I make my way downstairs into the kitchen to make myself a coffee, I am interrupted by the figure that stands by the coffee machine. I clear my throat which makes them turn around.
It's Liam.
Making coffee.
In a short pink silk dressing gown.
I can't help but laugh at what he is wearing, which I presume is Meredith's.
"I'm just making coffee...for me and Mer." He stutters, embarrassed. He clearly didn't expect to bump into anyone at this time in the morning, clearly he forgot he was staying in a house full of surgeons.
"Yep...I can see that." I say slowly, still not processing what I am seeing. To be fair it's not the most embarrassing situation I have seen him in.
Trust me.
"I'm just gonna..." He says before grabbing the drinks and leaving the kitchen.
The moment he leaves I burst out laughing.
Once I have stopped laughing I make myself a coffee and sit down at the table, still sat in my pyjamas, (a pair of sweats and a baggy top) just contemplating my day ahead. I already feel exhausted.
The silence is suddenly interrupted by the sound of both Izzie and George walking in complaining about something as per usual.
I have to say I don't miss being an intern.
"What's wrong now?" I question.
They both stop talking and turn to face me. They don't say anything, and both walk over to the coffee machine. From the looks of them they look like they had no sleep whatsoever.
