I will tell you when to play the song by writing ( ************ )

Beep beep beep

I look over to the table where my pager keeps going off, the other side of the OR. The nurse who picks it up locks eyes with me, she has an annoyed expression on her face, clearly fed up with the amount of times that has gone off. She sighs before saying, "You've been paged to the front desk. again. "

I roll my eyes at the request.

"I have about 30 minutes left in this surgery, then I'll go down. Can someone go and tell whoever it is that I will be down soon?" I reply, probably too angrily.

~~~~~~
After having finished my surgery alone, as Derek's phone kept going off so he had to leave the room, he had a strange look on his face that I had never seen before, it was really weird. But i chose to ignore it and complete the surgery perfectly on my own. I made my way towards the elevator, my limbs ached from the long surgery.
I step into the empty elevator and press the button for the ground floor where the front desk is. Now that I am alone with my thoughts, I take the time to think about everything that has happened in the past couple of weeks. The whole thing between me and Jake, I don't even want to think about what happened with Derek.  I close my eyes just for a second to calm my thoughts.
I need to stop stressing. Things seemed to have calmed down for the moment. I need to get away from the chaos for a bit.
That's when the elevator doors open.
Oh shit.
Emily.
The moment I step out of the lift I want to turn back around and go back upstairs but its too late. She is stood, more like slouched, over the desk talking to one of the receptionist, seemingly giving her grief and making her page me yet again. Her hair is different from the last time I saw her, her once bright red pin straight dyed hair now dark brown and wavy. I take in her unusual outfit for the first time.
It's not unusual looking but unusual for her.
Emily has always been slightly different, we all had different phases when we were growing up but Emily had always stuck to her more "free" and "careless" look until now. Her once dark and alternative clothing had been replaced with more lifeless and boring clothes, almost as if she had tried to change herself to seem more adult but failed and ended up looking dull and uncomfortable.
Almost a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I am still frozen in my spot which I have been stood in for what feels like hours but has probably only been about one minute.
I let out a sigh and am about to walk over when Cristina walks up to me.
"You look like you've just seen a ghost." She states, not bothering to say hello first.
I guess you could say I sort of had.
I break my stare from Emily and look towards Cristina, she has her hair neatly placed back in a braid and her arms are full of charts, which I look at and can't help but smirk.
"What happened to you?" I say, amused at her amount of work.
"Bailey's put me on scut." She sighs and rolls her eyes.
"Why?" I question, stalling, so I don't have to go over to Emily and see why she has suddenly appeared after such a long time.
"Something that wasn't even my fault-" She rambles before cutting herself off "-Anyway I need to go up to the 6th floor and you're kinda standing in the way of the elevator." She says quickly, before pointing with her eyes to the lifts that I am blocking and then looking at me again.
