As I got to the hospital and arrived at the nurses station ready to do rounds, Derek sidled up to me and whispered, "I saw what you did at Joe's last night." My stomach dropped as I tried to remember all of my drunken antics from the previous evening.
"What?" I whispered back, feigning innocence.
Derek smirked, leaning in closer. "I saw you with that guy."
I shifted uncomfortably, "I don't know what you're talking about. I was just having a good time with my friends."
He laughed.
"Why do you care anyway?" I say.
"I don't." He retorted.
We spent the rest of the day working, but my mind couldn't help but drift back to the events of the previous night. I tried to ignore Derek's smug grin, but it was impossible to shake off. As the day went on, he became increasingly more persistent in his attempts to bring up our conversation.
Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. I stormed into the break room, grabbed a bottle of water, and took a deep swig. I needed to clear my head. The sound of my co-workers chatting faded away as I walked out onto the floor.
As I stood there, lost in thought, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see Derek approaching. I hesitated for a moment, but then steeled myself and confronted him.
"What do you want?" I asked, my voice slightly shaky.
"Nothing." He says. "Shall we got to our next consult or do i need to give you one drink first so you will do what i want."
"Shut up, Derek." My voice was icy as I staring him down.
He backed off, chuckling. "Fine, have it your way." He stalked away, leaving me standing there, fuming.

When I got home, I immediately changed into my most comfortable clothes and poured myself a glass of wine. Soon after i put a movie on Meredith came home and sat with me.
"What are we watching?" She asks, taking my wine out of my hands and sipping some of it.
"10 things i hate about you." I say.
