In the upcoming days Ash was roaming around, studying for his exams and spending time with serena. He did gain a bit of weight as he wasn't exercising nor playing.
Ash felt that pit feeling inside his heart whenever he saw his friends play on the court. He didn't have thoughts on continuing basketball as a career but reality hit him like a truck; he cannot go back to his athletic mode.
Sighing he headed towards library and then was surprised to see Serena talking with a fellow junior who just joined. Ash recognised him, he was the same person who had mad skills in basketball.
Gladion.
Ash was very envious of him and his skills, precise shoot, amazing dribbling━ if things were same then Ash would already challenge him for a game.
But things aren't the same.
Right now he didn't want to disturb Serena and gladion who were having a conversation as he was about to leave but then he heard her honey voice.
"Ash?!" She said and she stood up ignoring gladion who was standing over there. Ash was awkward already but Serena didn't think too much, she just grabbed his arm, looking up.
Ash saw a clear reflection and he again got lost in her eyes. It was shining and Ash couldn't help but chuckle at the thought that crossed his mind; your eyes shine only when you are with the person you love━is what his mom told when Ash was young.
Serena gently pulled Ash without leaving his arm and then introduced to gladion.
"This is Ash, my boyfriend!" And anyone could tell she looked so happy while introducing Ash. Why wouldn't she tho? It's her first boyfriend and that too a person she deeply adored. with a person she feels comfortable sharing anything. A person who likes her unconditionally as well.
"Oh? It's really nice to meet you. I heard alot about you! Wanna join the game after this?" He asked in an eager way. All this time Ash was faking his smile; he didn't like this one bit.
If gladion knew about Ash then he should've known that Ash doesn't play anymore and yet he invited him. It was like rubbing salt to the wound that Ash got recently as Ash just laughed it off.
"Why was he here anyway?" Ash asked Serena who didn't leave his arm at all and Ash was so grateful for that. He was feeling bit of insecure and depressed but Serena gave him unwavering amount of courage to stand up, to look forward.
"He is the son of ceo where my dad works." She said as if it didn't matter who he was.
Both of them started working on their thesis and started talking about the movie they were going that evening.
Days went by and Ash was feeling out of it, he didn't feel like doing anything. He didn't feel like waking up, he didn't feel like going to college, he didn't feel like existing.
