savannah was tired. she didn't understand how time flew by as she kept herself busy with stitching a new piece. it was already dark when she finished up for the day and went back to her dorm.
she shared the dorm with another girl who majored in korean literature. she wasn't home mostly so it wasn't a surprise to find the dorm empty when she entered it.
she didn't bother to take off her bag, heading straight to the kitchen to quench her thirst. she didn't turn on the lights and as she reached to open the refrigerator, she noticed a bright yellow sticky note on it. she sighed, already knowing what it was.
ever since her own birthday a few months ago, mira had been leaving savannah messages and notes. the girl would stop by her dorm and her roommate would always open the door for her, still thinking they were friends. mira would go inside and leave her the mentioned notes.
grown used to it, savannah didn't even want to read this one, knowing it said something about her leaving mark. she didn't want to confront her roommate about it too, knowing that if she asked her to stop letting in mira, she would just find some other way to bother her.
somehow, savannah found this to be the most tame thing about the whole situation. she wasn't being approached on social media or on her phone, courtesy of the block button. atleast Mira didn't know her schedule and follow her around on campus.
she shut her eyes tight and groaned, grabbing the small paper and crumbling it in her hand. she roughly shoved it inside her bag and finally took it off, tossing it carelessly on the kitchen counter.
forgetting the water, she sat down on one of the kitchen chairs and rubbed her head. she couldn't help but think of just a few years ago when she had met mira.
she sat in the dark and tried to dismiss her headache which only grew strong at the painful memories of the sweet friend she had once found in the same girl she avoided with her life now.
she found it ironic how at first, savannah thought of mira as her saviour. and now she was trying to run away from the mere thought of the girl. the same person who had brought her out of the dark was now the one getting on her nerves.
she couldn't figure out what it was. what had changed? what happened to mira? did something happen to her as she was dating mark? did mark do something to her? where did everything go wrong?
savannah wasn't sure. she wasn't even sure why she cared anymore! she could ignore her and keep moving foward as she always pretended to and eventually she'd end up not caring in real time.
maybe it was just hard seeing someone you love change so drastically.
or maybe it was just the fact that she had seen this happen to herself before. she didn't know what to do the first time, but she should've known what to do now and how to move on. but she couldn't. and she beat herself up about it more than she wanted to.rooftop fighters
