the campus was illuminated by a few lamp posts here and there seeing as it was after midnight when savannah had finally come back.

if it wasn't for the sudden back pain she got while driving back, she would have gone straight to her dorm and slept. but ofcourse, mother nature hates women and decides to give them their toughest battles at the worst times.

she stopped by at the small store on campus, finding it all empty. deciding to get it over with, the girl quickly walked to get herself the sanitary product along with some snacks. except the store wasn't completely empty.

at the very end of the aisle stood a very familiar figure, talking in a quick and hushed whisper to someone over the phone- as if in an argument.

savannah knew that voice anywhere. she knew that hair anywhere. the back of the head. the mannerisms. the choice of pads in her hand- savannah never forgot anything about mira.

it was haunting. she never wanted to see her again but when she saw her- or just her back to make things worse, she felt her heart getting heavier in her chest.

it felt like she hadn't seen the familiar girl in ages. she saw her around campus often, but she didn't understand why she was having such a reaction at that very time.

not wanting to be seen by the girl, savannah went to another aisle as quick as lightening. she got lucky because just as mira turned around, the australian was gone. the girl busy on the phone forever oblivious of her ex-friend's presence.

the girl in hiding widened her eyes when she stumbled upon another figure in the other aisle she had ran into. mark looked lost in thought as he stood there. he didn't even notice savannah until she got close enough to put her hand on his shoulder.

he passed her a smile, figuring out she was doing the same thing as him. mark and savannah were hiding from the person they missed the most almost everyday.

it was ridiculous. they'd lie to everyone, saying they didn't care about her anymore. but in the depths of their hearts lingered longing. it was so sudden, everything that happened. it came out of nowhere, they didn't expect it at all.

maybe that was the reason why they weren't ready to accept the fact that mira had changed completely. maybe that was why they still hoped she was the same sweet girl they both held dear to their hearts. maybe that was why it hurt whenever they thought back to what happened.

the bell of the store rang, signalling the exit of the girl they tried avoiding like the plague. breathing out sighs of relief at the same time, mark and savannah watched the door for traces of the girl.

"i miss her," savannah admitted first, "i hate it but i miss her a lot.."
"yeah, me too.. she still texts me sometimes, I don't reply though.. don't have it in me, I guess" the boy shrugged with a small chuckle at his ridiculousness

but his words shocked savannah, "wait, really?"
"uh yeah, why?"
"bro she's been dropping by my dorms everytime I'm not there and leaving me notes about setting you guys up again.. I don't do anything about it, though. i guess I don't have it in me like you," she nudged the boy with her elbow, finally letting out her little secret to the boy she knew wouldn't take offense at her lack of action

"dude- she texts me the same things. about wanting to get back together or breaking up with you. she actually thinks we're dating" mark laughed at the thought of himself and savannah being envisioned as a couple by his ex

"hey why are you laughing, bro?" savannah scoffed, offended. "I'll have you know, so many people would feel honored to be dating me- even if its just an accusation"
"damn I'm sorry, miss i get bitches"
"yeah, I'm miss i get bitches and you're mr. i get glitches."
