the boys' dorm was unusually quiet. mark knew that three of the boys were out with their girlfriends on a triple date because they planned it in the groupchat infront of everyone, leaving chenle complaining about his single life.
speaking of, chenle had forced renjun to take him to a restaurant too. even after receiving death threats from the older, he didn't give up and eventually convinced him. they invited mark too, but the eldest saw this as a golden opportunity to relax at home without the usual rowdy-ness.
but now that the dorm was filled with silence, mark couldn't tame the emptiness in his mind. he tried to occupy himself with something- anything!
but nothing worked for him.mark liked to spend time alone. he liked it when there was no argument between donghyuck and renjun in the background, and when chenle wasn't yelling at something, he liked the silence in the dorm. but he didn't like being lonely.
he vividly remembered the last time he felt this way, ofcourse he did. how could he forget the weird melancholia that haunted him when a certain blonde australian informed him about his cheating lover?
it was 2 years ago. why wasn't he over it already? he hated it. he was trapped in a jail constructed by mira within the confinements of his own mind. why was it so hard to break out?
one person he knew for sure shared the same feelings. he felt relieved, knowing for sure he wasn't alone in it all. savannah was a living breathing proof of what mark liked to call, 'the mira effect'
he believed that a girl as powerful and mighty as mira would always leave a mark (pun unintended) on anyone she came across. she was so special to him, to anyone that was in her life like savannah.
he felt at ease knowing that he wasn't crazy being hung up over a girl that played him. he truly loved her, it was impossible to get over her. and he had closure in form of savannah's existence.
hwang mira was a woman of impact.

savannah had slept in the whole day. she had seen this coming a few days ago when she decided to stay alive and awake on coffee and to grind on all her work.
she didn't really struggle with working and she didn't mind it either. she wasn't usually late to submit her assignments either and whatever she procrastinated, she'd make sure to complete it somehow.
it helped keep her mind busy, and that was how she liked it. she didn't like thinking a lot. she was always negative when it came to it. it was either full of painful reminders of the past or of the fearful days of the future.
now wide awake at 9 pm with no work to do, savannah sat idle in her bed. she checked her phone and saw the couples in the groupchat had went out for dinner together. it was oddly silent after those messages, the rest had probably occupied themselves and were too busy to keep the chat alive. sighing, she turned her phone off and stood up to take a shower to do something.
the water would most likely be cold at this time- just how she liked it. the cold air hit her skin and sent tingles down her spine. taking a deep breath, she stepped inside the shower once she had rid herself of her clothes.
she reached for the new shampoo bottles she had bought, deciding to give them a try. but a mistake it was, buying the product in the first place. one sniff of the viscous liquid and savannah was 10 years old again, sniffing her mother's hair that smelled like strawberries.
