Chapter 12: Like A Shadow to You

Banu felt herself calm down by the sole presence of Akash. Though it was her first time meeting him in person, she could not help but crave for his care at the moment. Unlike her body and heart's wish, her mind gave her an alert reminding of the incident happened in the past hour. She pushed him a little away from her at the moment and brought her knees close to her body.

Tears began rolling down her cheeks and her throat started to clog. Unable to see her misery any more, he left the room and dialed Kailash number to inform him everything. The information startled Kailash, making him book the next flight available to their city. Then, he contacted a popular detective and hired a security personality to keep a check on her. Meanwhile he got the number of Aravind personal assistant in his own way and insisted upon arranging a meet up tomorrow.

Aravind was furious about losing the chance to attain Banu. When he came to know about his half brother's interest in meeting him tomorrow, he became certain that Akash figured out his plans.
He thought, 'A savior of Banu - what a title brother? Do you think you can get her away from me? I will get what is mine, at any cost. Even you can't stop me. You have spoiled my plan and made the process a bit tough but also challenging. I love challenges brother.'

Banu recovered from the incident in a while and began to craft an idea to inflict pain upon Aravind. Akash knocked the door and entered into the room. He was relieving to see her return to her form. Upon seeing him, her lips curved to a smile.

"I don't know how to thank you for what you did. Dad oftentimes speaks about you non stop in the house. Akash did this. Akash did that. My goodness. He would recite your name like mantra glorifying your achievements. It's great the see the person who own that. Take a seat," she said cheerfully.

Akash sat on the sofa and looked her in wonder. Whatever the reason is, her charming aura relaxed his heart which was worried about her. They soon got comfortable with each other enabling them to speak about a variety of topics.

After a while, Akash informed her about Kailash arriving at the city by tomorrow. They became friends within a short span or time. He completed the discharging formalities and dropped her to her house. Banu invited him to enter into the house and have a coffee. Though he obliged to her wish, he didn't let her make the coffee.

He went to the kitchen with her and prepared two cups of coffee. Giving one cup to her, he sipped his coffee. Banu liked Akash's nature and began to feel safe around him. After the security personnel came, he verified him and gsve specific instructions to maintain her safety.

When he made a move to leave, Banu called for him. Akash raised a brow and waited for her to speak up.

"..Akash..you don't have my number. I don't have yours too,"

Banu looking for a chance to stay connect with him made him feel giddy for unknown reasons. Instead of giving her his number, he took his phone and gave her a call. She realized that he had her number by now only after noticing the incoming call on her mobile screen.

"But how.."

Before she could finish the question, he ignited her curiousity by uttering the words, "That's another story. May be our next meeting will provide you with the answers. May be.."

Banu enjoyed his playfulness despite being annoyed by the unanswered question. With a sigh, she locked her doors and laid on the bed to sleep. Slowly he eyelids closed out of exhaustion. Within a few minutes, she dozed off to a deep sleep.
