Chapter 14. Like A Shadow to You

Aravind pretended to be busy with his schedule when Kailash entered his office premises and insisted upon meeting him. Though he instructed his employees to chase him away, they were afraid of the consequences of being on his bad side. He exhibited supremacy through his attitude and outfit. Apart from that, he threatened Aravind's assistant with the illegal transactions done by Aravind. Kailash collected all the important documents and other proofs that would result in the convictions for Aravind's dirty work.

With no other go, Aravind asked him to enter into his cabin. With a sleek design, the furniture and accessories in the cabin matched perfectly with the fusion of dark colors. A large wooden table stood in the center. Towards the site, there was a coffee table surrounded by a couch and an armchair. Aravind welcomed him with a shallow smile and gestered towards the sofa.

Kailash occupied the seat with a sneer and placed his one leg over the other. Aravind stood from his chair and walked back and froth. Suddenly, he stopped his walk and questioned him.

"What makes the gentleman rush to my cabin? I guess you like to play with fire considering the stupidest threats you have made against me just before."

When he said the last words, he clenched his teeth.

"I dislike beating around the bush. How dare you get near my daughter? All I want to do now is smash your head against the table for trying to touch her inappropriately," he said pointing his finger towards Aravind who was a bit shocked at his outburst.

Aravind soon recollected his posture and gave him an evil smile.

"Calm down, Kailash. I will take over my father's business by the next month. Be it power or wealth, no one in this state can beat me. Lucky for your daughter, I happen to like her and can bear with her for a long time. There's nothing wrong with a lovely interaction between couples, right? You have to support us like you have assisted in my various cases, " he extended his hand towards him for a handshake.

But Kailash became disgusted with the idea and pushed his hand away.

"Until I live, I won't let your shadow fall on her. I'm not a naive person who you can manipulate for your benefits. So, put an end to all your insane imaginations. I have a record of your signficant business dealings. If found guilty, you won't be able to come out from the jail for atleast 15 to 20 years. Don't make me take the step."

Even though the threat made Aravind furious, he smiled gently.

"Nah, Kailash. It was just my wish. If you are not okay with this, then fine. Many beautiful women are lined up to marry me for my reputation and wealth. It is your loss if you choose not to associate with me. Forget all this. Let us all be good friends like we were before."

He settled the matter as of now and bid him farewell. The moment Kailash left the company, he began to craft an evil plan to fetch all the sources recealing his illicit cases. It took a month for the job to be done. As soon as he got the details, he proceeded with his wicked plan.

Banu and Akash went to the nearby multicuisine restaurant. Akash pulled a chair for Banu to sit and then sat on the opposite chair.

Banu enjoyed his presence more than she thought. They both told the bearer the orders. A comfortable silence surrounded the place. Unlike their first meeting, Akash now had the time to admire her beauty. Since he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, he pretended to look at other things.

"Akash, I want to become a good friend to you. Tell me more about what you like and don't like," Banu initiated the conversation. Just like a wave in the ocean, Akash spoke about various matters that excited him. Banu couldn't help but laugh at the funny incidents happened in his life.

They ate their food in the middle of their conversation. Days followed by weeks, they met together and began to look forward to their next meeting. A spark came into their relationship one afternoon when they were walking in a park.

"Banu, you can't beat me in this. I can run faster than you think," Akash challenges her and sped up.

Banu is not the one to leave a challenge. So, she increased her speed and ran towards him. When she was about to run ahead of him, a stone in her path caused her to trip. Out of fear, she pulled Alash towards him causing them to roll on the pathway.

There were scratches in both of their elbows. Akash got up and gave her a hand. A sprain in her ankle prevented her from rising up. Inspite of her reluctance, Akash carried her to his car.
