As the commotion in the living room reached its peak, Goten took a deep breath, steeling himself to redirect the conversation away from Solana and towards a safer topic.
"Actually, Trunks," he said, his voice firm, "the girl I left school with was Sofia."
Trunks raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "Sofia? Do I know her?" he asked, casting a glance at Mai.
Mai looked at Goten confused and the moment she saw Goten signaling at the Destroyer, the realization dawned. "Yes, I know Sofia. She's my friend from school," she confirmed, her voice tinged with intrigue as to why Goten wanted her to lie, mixed with irritation she would never admit to.
Goten breathed a sigh of relief, grateful for Mai's timely intervention. "Right, so no need to worry about that," he said, hoping to steer the conversation away from any further inquiries about Solana.
But before he could relax, Beerus stood from his seat, his expression grave. "I'm afraid I must excuse myself," he announced, his tone brooking no argument. "Goten, I trust that you will fill Trunks, Mai and Chichi in on the prophecy. I leave you two boys responsible for informing your families about the prophecy I shared."
Goten's heart sank as he realized the gravity of Beerus's words. "But why us?" he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
Beerus fixed him with a steely gaze. "Because you are the ones who know. Duh. And Chichi," he added, turning to address Goku's wife, "you must inform your friend, Android 18 so her family will know aswell. Spread the word about the prophecy among your friends who know of the different universe. Anyone who disobeys will face consequences."
The weight of Beerus's words hung heavy in the air as Goten and Trunks exchanged a solemn glance. They knew that disobeying the Destroyer of Universe 7 would come with dire consequences, and they had no choice but to comply.
With a heavy heart, Goten nodded in agreement, his mind already racing with the implications of what Beerus had told them. As the god of destruction made his exit, a sense of foreboding settled over the room.
Goten took a deep breath, his mind still reeling from Beerus's ominous warning. "Guys, we need to talk," he began, his voice solemn as he addressed Trunks, Mai, and Chichi.
"Are you going to explain to us why you have a fake girlfriend named Sofia?" Mai inquired with her arms folded.
"Not exactly. Beerus told us about a prophecy. He said that a child born from the 6th and 7th universes would rise to challenge even the mightiest rulers of the cosmos." Goten explained.
Trunks frowned as he sat where Beerus was, crossing his arms skeptically. "But we both have girlfriends. It could be Bulla, Marron, or Pan since they're single," he objected, trying to make sense of the situation.
Chichi raised an eyebrow, her expression thoughtful as she stood beside Goku, who wouldn't take his eyes off of Goten in confusion. "True, but neither of you are married, and the person from universe six is a female around your age," she pointed out, her voice tinged with concern.
Mai's eyes widened in understanding as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. "Wait, that's the girl Goten was disguising as Sofia, right?" her tone laced with realization.
Goten sighed in regret of his lie, "Yeah, her name is actually Solana and she's a Saiyan Princess from Universe 6."
"What is she doing here?!" Trunks asked in bafflement.
"She wanted to train with my dad so she can become a strong ruler at her home planet. She's only staying here for 6 months."
"Well... that's more than enough time to fall in love and get pregnant." Mai rolled her eyes and Chichi nodded in agreement.
"I highly doubt she'd let something like that happened. She's extremely determined to complete her goal. Getting pregnant would ruin everything for her." Goten reasoned, already annoyed with how he was already getting accused for something he hasn't done... yet. Mai walked closer to where he was sitting in suspicion.
"She might be determined, but are you? We all know what a free spirit you are, Goten."
"What are you implying, Mai?" Goten asked as he was practically a ticking time bomb and Trunks jumped in.
"Do you like Solana?" Goten was quiet as he was caught off guard.
"H-how w-would I like someone I just met." Goten asked.
"The same way I started liking Mai." Trunks responded immediately sitting forward with his hands together on the table. His blue eyes meeting Goten's dark ones.
"I don't, Trunks. I love Valese and Valese alone." Goten said firmly meeting Trunks gaze.
"Ohhhh, so you lied about Solana being Sofia who doesn't exist so that Beerus wouldn't find out about Solana's existence!" Goku finally caught on.
"Uhm, yeah dad." Goten smiled, happy to see that his dad was on the same page as them.
"So where exactly is the princess anyways?" Mai looked around the room, flipping her long straight black hair, before Chichi suddenly yelled, scaring everyone in the room.
"Solana you can come downstairs its safe!"
As Solana came down and walked into the living room introducing herself to Trunks and Mai their attention was drawn to the sight of her tail.
"Wow." Trunks's eyes were glued to the Saiyan princess, his mind reeling at the revelation.
Mai, finally having her last straw pulled, swiftly punched him across his head. "What are you staring at?!" she scolded, assuming the worst of Trunks.
Trunks recoiled, holding his head in surprise. "Ow! No, I wasn't... I mean..." he stammered, trying to explain himself, but the damage was already done.
