When You're Different in School

Chapter 21: Helping

Tyler prov:

As the police came in after Crystal, they shoved me away in order to contain me. I broke free and almost had her in my arms when five other police officers tackled me down and held me against my will.

"She never did anything! Let her go asshole!"

"Sir if you don't contain yourself, we'll have to take you in as well." One told me.

"Let her go." Abby said with tears staining her cheeks.

I stop resisting and looked back to see that she and some other officers were gone. I sighed as the others got off me and walked over to the girls and undid their cuffs.

"Don't leave town. We have questions that need answering once things have settled a little." An officer said before he and the rest of his crew got into their cars and drove off.

"Why did they take her?" Sadie asked as she rubbed her wrists.

"She must have gotten caught feeding." Abby said sighing as she sat on the floor next to the couch.

"Why the hell are you so calm about this?!" I yelled looking down at her.

"Because there's nothing we can do. If they found out she's a vampire then they'll lock her up so not even she can get out. Tyler...she's the strongest of us all."

"That's doesn't mean we just sit here like flightless ducks!"

"There's a reason she's the way she is." Dezz said setting her back on the arm of the couch.

"What do you mean?" Sadie and I both asked.

"You always thought she was a vampire like us. She is...in a way. That other half, is violent and blood thirsty. It'll do anything to get what they want."

"What do you mean they?" Abby asked frowning her eyebrows.

"Crystal basically has two different personalities inside her. Its not like bipolar or multiple personality disorder though. Its rare and deadly. This side never knows when to quite. If Crystal lets it out, she may never come back."

"So what can we do to help her?" Abby asked.

"That's just it...I only know one way. We would need to kill Crystal."

"THERES NO WAY IN HELL YOUR KILLING HER! ITS BECAUSE OF HER ALL OF US HAVE COME TOGETHER. WE'RE LIKE A FAMILY!" I yelled at them all.

"And you don't think we feel the same way?!' Abby yelled in my face.

"We knew her long before you did. The last thing we want is to kill her!" Sadie yelled and cried. "She's the reason I stopped trying to kill myself."

"She took me in when no else would." Dezz said as tears started to stain her cheeks. "Because of her, I learned to not care what others think of me."

"You've only been together for less than two months. Crystal and I have been sisters since kindergarten when I was being bullied." Abby said sitting back on the ground. "She's always been by my side through everything. We even had our first meal together."

"You've all been through so much. You keep saying how Crystal stayed by your side when times were tough, but what about for her? Are you really going to ditch your sister just because you think you can't do anything?"

"But we can't." Abby said grabbing a hold of Sadie's and Dezz's hand.

"But you can." Crystal said after she kicked the door down. "You can help me in so many ways sisters. The first with helping me killing everyone."
