I woke up feeling disoriented, as if I had a concussion, and struggled to remember what had happened. As I attempted to get up, I noticed that I was experiencing symptoms of a cold – my eyes were watery, my nose was congested, and I felt extremely fatigued. It felt as though my skin was covered in ice, and I had goosebumps while shaking uncontrollably. My throat felt hoarse, making it difficult to speak. Despite feeling unwell, I couldn't stand the idea of spending the entire day in bed. I was determined to do something enjoyable, even though I was aware that I was sick. I made an effort to clear my throat, hoping to hide the truth from my dad. Nevertheless, my desire to get up and do something fun was overshadowed by my physical discomfort. I suddenly became aware of my surroundings, taking in every familiar detail. My eyes drifted to the nightstand, where my light-colored butter-yellow princess phone sat, casting a warm glow in the room. The seventeen magazines were carefully stacked on my shelf, each one filled with colorful images and intriguing stories. As I glanced out of my window, I couldn't help but be captivated by the breathtaking beauty of the scenery outside. After hearing a noise, my dad instantly opened my bedroom door to check on me, so I tried to act like I wasn't sick even though I was.
Hey Emery, it's time to wake up and start your day. You've got a lot of things to take care of today. Let's get going!"Ugh, Dad, it's Saturday, and I don't feel good. I'm sick," Emery replied.
"Your voice doesn't sound like you're sick, you just have a runny nose. Please stop fabricating symptoms with me," he replied.
Emery responded with an air of illness, "You have to believe me, I'm not lying."
"Also, where were you last night? When I got home at eight you weren't home," He responded.
"I was going to a friend's house, we were working on a project and we lost track of time. As soon as I left I was stuck in the rain all night. That's why I'm sick," Emery said.
"Emery could you please get ready for the day, he said."
"I want you to come into the living room in 20 minutes," he said.
Last night was terrible - it left me feeling like the lowest of the low, and I was so disgusted by what happened that I impulsively tossed my beautiful, expensive blue dress to the back of my closet. After that, I did something highly unusual for me - I fell asleep right away.

Emery, it's noon now. Why did you go back to sleep?" Dad questioned."Dad, you know what I said earlier? I can do whatever I want so shut up," I yelled at him.
Why waste away hours lounging around and watching TV when you could be living a more active and fulfilling life? Your potential and opportunities are too important to ignore. Instead of spending all day in bed, why not prioritize activities that bring meaning and purpose to your life? not get to know the guy? You know his mom is a very sweet lady. I met her a time or two when we moved in. Her son is the same age as you.
"Are you serious?!" Emery said, annoyed.
"Emery, please get dressed quickly because we have company," Dad said sternly.
