Chapter 16

Daemon watch Rhaena's eyes flutter open and was relieved. Her heart slow drastically in the last three hours and he fear it would stop beating the next.

"Hey baby."

"Hi."

"You scare me. How are you feeling?"

"Hungry." He help her sit up and she rub the sleep from her eyes. "Is Elias OK?"

"He's alive and annoying."

"Be nice." Daemon roll his eyes and stand. He lift her off the bed and carry her out of the room.

"Hey Daemon tell your girl to control her flowers!"

Daemon walk down the stairs and raise a eyebrow at the vines on his walls.

"Baby?"

"I'm not doing anything."

"We'll feed you and deal with that after."

They got to the kitchen and he set her on a stool.

"Elias."

"I owe you."

"No you don't. I'm glad you're OK."

"You almost kill yourself."

She laugh awkwardly.

"I can't really control my magic."

"That explains why this house is almost covered in flowers. I hate flowers."

"Brent be nice."

"I'm being nice. The colours are giving me a headache."

"I'll try and fix it. I promise."

"Don't worry about it baby. Eat."

She nod and eat her noodles.

"So what's the latest updates? Any problems with this month shipments?"

"Not one. You scare them so they dare not try. But we're not letting our guard down. Oh and King Titus want a meeting with you."

Rhaena look up from her plate.

"Set up the meeting here."

"Why is dad coming here?"

"Don't know but I'll like to find out. He has until tomorrow."

Rhaena bring the plate to the dishwasher before turning to the giant men in the room.

"Can I join you?"

"Why baby?"

"I don't want to be far from you."

Her father is sly. He'll do anything to drag her back to Pixie Hollow and bound her there. Her father is cruel and will do anything to have his way. Rhaena don't know what she has ever done to deserve such hatred from her father.

She stay up many nights asking that question until she stop. She get the hell out of there and never look back. She didn't use her magic because they could track her that way.

Now he will be in the same house as her. That scare her. He might not be as dangerous as Daemon but he's in the top five dangerous men she know. Daemon won't lay a hand on her but her father will.
