𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩,

Siddharth took a quick shower and changed into his night clothes. When he came out of the bathroom, he smiled, seeing Shehnaaz and Saad still asleep. Without thinking, he walked over and sat beside Shehnaaz on the edge of the bed.

Memories flooded his mind, taking him back to the days when they were inseparable. “Naazo mere saath baithengi!” He’d always fight with their cousins to ensure she sat beside him because she had a habit of falling asleep on his arm during their late-night movie sessions. Where had those days gone? He noticed a few strands of hair had fallen across her forehead and gently brushed them back. His eyes then fell on Saad, who had snuggled even closer to her neck. Really? Itna pyaar?

Siddharth rolled his eyes at the sight and grabbed the water bottle from the side table. Without warning, he splashed the water on Shehnaaz, causing her to jolt awake.

He chuckled as he jumped off the bed. “Tum jallad jinn! Ruko!!” she yelled, chasing after him. Siddharth ran to save himself, but she slipped and fell onto the sofa, pulling him down with her. Filmy enough? Shehnaaz thought.

She looked up into his eyes, only to find him already staring down at her, intensely, almost as if he shouldn’t have. She felt his hand on her waist tighten, sending a shiver through her, and she gulped, looking into his eyes. As for him, he was lost in her. She looked like an angel who had just woken up from a peaceful slumber, her wet eyelashes making her eyes appear even more captivating.

He brushed a few more strands of hair back and softly called her, “Naazo…”

“Ji, Siddharth?” she replied, without breaking their eye contact. “Tum…” he began, caressing her cheek, “alag lag rahi ho.”

“Jaise ki?” she asked, shifting uncomfortably in their close position. She tried to get up, but Siddharth didn’t let her, pulling her back. “Jawab toh sunlo!”

She blushed, looking down as she unknowingly fiddled with his shirt buttons. “Tum bilkul waisi lag rahi ho jaise—”

Saad’s cries abruptly pulled them out of their trance, but neither moved, waiting for the other to make the first move. “Saad par bada pyar aa raha hai!” Siddharth teased, tightening his hold on her as she attempted to go to Saad. She frowned and replied, “Haan toh? Tumse toh pyara hai.”

“Accha? Mera pyaara wala side dekhungi toh tumhare uss Abraham ka pyaar bhul jaungi,” Siddharth said confidently.

“Chiii!!” Shehnaaz exclaimed in disgust, getting off him, leaving him frowning in confusion. She went to Saad and cradled him in her arms, patting his head gently.

Siddharth scooted closer, caressed Saad's head, and whispered to her, “Tumhe mujhse pyaar karne mein aise kya chii lagta hai?”

Shehnaaz, now straddling Saad to put him back to sleep, said, “Baat tumse pyaar karne ki nahi hai. Tumne uss Abraham ko mera kyun bola chii.” She made a disgusted face, and Siddharth grinned, excitedly saying, “Tum bhi usko hate karti ho na? Mujhe pata—”

Shehnaaz quickly placed her hand over his mouth, pointing to Saad. He nodded, removing her hand, and fiddled with her bracelet until Saad fell asleep. She smiled at him, but remembering how he had thrown water at her, she jerked her hand away. He frowned and pulled her hand back. Shehnaaz shook her head and watched as Saad drifted off again.

“Boyfriend hai?” Siddharth whispered in her ear as she was laying Saad on the bed. She looked at him, surprised, and pushed him away, heading towards the door, but he grabbed her hand. “Kuch pucha maine!” he coldly asked, his curiosity mixed with possessiveness growing as she didn’t answer. So she has a boyfriend now?

“Abhi tumne bola na, mera pyaara side dekhungi toh bhul jaungi apne pyaar ko. Dikhado fir bolti ho,” Shehnaaz sweetly challenged, folding her arms. Siddharth chuckled slowly, walking toward her. They both knew they were headed in the wrong direction, but did they regret it at that moment? Hell no. Would they regret it tomorrow? Maybe.

Shehnaaz had always been the confident one in the family, the only one who dared to provoke this jallad jinn. But his dark gaze now was making her nervous. She gulped and stepped back.

Too late—her back hit the wall, and she found herself pinned between him and the wall. He inhaled her scent deeply, closing his eyes, clearly addicted. “I don't know what I am doing,” he confessed near her ear.

“Won’t you show me your pyaara side, Siddharth?” she asked, her voice soft and loving, causing Siddharth’s gaze to lock onto her lips.

“Pyaara side dekhna hai?” he asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Lost in the moment, she nodded, buttoning his shirt.

He might regret it later, but knowing how afraid she was of everything, he grabbed the fish pot from the side table. Without breaking their intense eye contact, he dunked the entire pot on her, letting the fish fall onto her hair.

She screamed, panicking as she tried to get the fish off, jumping in fright. She finally managed to grab one and threw it away, tears welling in her eyes. Siddharth laughed loudly, clapping his hands, oblivious to her tears.

The regret was mutual—she regretted flirting back with him, knowing well he didn’t have any feelings for her. And him? He regretted going too far with his prank.

“Naazo–” He started moving towards her, but she held up her hand, wiping her tears away before running out. “Naazo meri–” He tried to follow her but was stopped by Saad’s cries. Frustrated, he returned to Saad, scooping him up in his arms.

He rushed to the hallway railing and saw Shehnaaz talking to Rashed, who nodded and grabbed his bike keys.

“No, no,” Siddharth murmured to himself, quickly handing Saad to Ayesha before running outside. He saw them driving off and shouted, “Naazo sunle yaar!!” He ran after them, calling out to his father, “Baba rukjayen, usse mat jaane de.” His father tried to stop the bike, but Shehnaaz said something, and they drove away. Siddharth finally stopped running, panting hard as he sat down on a random bench.

He slowly made his way back home, hitting the wall in frustration before going inside. He saw Saad crawling toward him and picked him up, speaking sadly to him, “Phuppon naraz hogayi chachu se.” Saad pouted, looking at him with sad eyes.

“Kya kiya tune uske saath!!” His mother shouted. He rolled his eyes. Not now, or he might just explode.
