𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩,

The day Shehnaaz had eagerly awaited for a week had finally arrived. Both Shehnaaz and Siddharth were filled with joy. Siddharth had come to realize how fond he was of her and was excited to make her his. Nano, not entirely trusting Siddharth with Shehnaaz under the same roof, decided to expedite the process.

Nervously, Shehnaaz fidgeted with her fingers and adjusted her makeup repeatedly. “Calm down, Shehnaaz. Calm down,” she whispered to herself.

She smiled as she looked at her reflection, adoring the thought of becoming his—her jallad jinn. She had always prayed for a perfect partner and a perfect life, and Siddharth, as confirmed by her mother, was the answer to her prayers. Although Allah had taken away her home and her parents, He had blessed her with peace and contentment in Siddharth’s arms and warm kisses. She hoped her mother would be happy seeing her finally become his. Her thoughts were consumed by him now—his happiness, his favorites, his peace. Now, she was his too.

She blushed as she looked at her henna-inked hand with his name written on it. He had sneaked into Nano’s room at 3 a.m. to correct the misspelling of his name on her hand. It wasn’t her fault, but he had made her write his name in three different places to make up for it, all while adding a beautiful maroon color to her hands.

“Arre bas kar pagli, raat ke liye sharmana baki rakh!” Nano laughed as she entered the room. Shehnaaz hid her face, whining, “Nanoooo,” and blushed. Nano chuckled, “Accha, accha, chal. Siddharth betab ho raha hai!” She helped Shehnaaz get up and walk to the hall.

Siddharth, looking at his phone, saw ‘10th call from Afreen.’ He rolled his eyes, switched off the phone, and handed it to his father. “Isse kahin door rakh dena please! Aur Naazo kahan hai? Waqt nikalta ja raha hai.” He looked through the crowd restlessly and calmed down as he saw Shehnaaz descending the stairs. He smiled at her, admiring her in the pink and white suit with palazzo, her half-hair framing her face and the red gajre in her hands. He chuckled as she almost tripped and went to her.
