Chapter Three

[THE FOLLOWING DAY]

Decorations were in every direction you looked as dozens of people were out in the open enjoying themselves with drinks, food or just chatting amongst themselves.
Aaron looked upon them all with pride, actually pretty proud of the party.

He began making his way through them all, saying hi to everyone and asking if they were all enjoying themselves, to which the responses were pretty positive.
"Thomas! How's it going? You having a good time?" He asked as he approached the man who was stood next to Lucas while eating honey at one of the many food stands.
"Yeah man, it's awesome! Kudos to whoever's idea the honey was." He applauded before going back to eating.
"Yeah dude, I have to admit you pulled this off. Solid job." Lucas congratulated as he bit info a carrot. "However, there was an ant in the carrots. Not sure how anyone missed it since it was about the size of a carrot, but it was just sat there. Then it tried biting my fingers off so I slapped the shit out of it of course."
"Of course. Well, sorry about the ant but thanks for dealing with it, much obliged."

"Don't ask him what he did with the ant afterwards." Thomas sniggered while shaking his head, making Aaron curious.
"What did you do with it?"
"Aaron, my friend, have you ever had fried ant before?"
"ARE you kidding me."
"I don't kid."
"You're the grossest person I've ever met in my life."
"Thank you." Lucas thanked him sincerely before turning his focus back to the carrot.
"Wow, that's just, awful." Aaron continued, shocked before moving on to others.

"Jennifer!" He called out while approaching her as she stood with a few friends. "You all having a good time I hope?"
"Yeah, great party Aaron, you nailed it." She congratulated him, looking around with her drink in hand. "Your dad would've been very proud."
"Thanks Jenny." He smiled. "But don't be making me cry now, if these people see their leader is a crybaby there will be riots."
"It's always okay to be a little emotional."
"Sure, thank you though. Couldn't have done it without you all."
"Oh shush, this was all you."
"Well, thanks again. And, enjoy the rest of the afternoon!"

He then spotted Ryan and James who were up to god knows what.
"And how are you two enjoying yourselves?"
"Aaron, hey!" Ryan greeted, turning to him for s split second. "We're enjoying it loads. You really made this place look great."
"Thanks, what on Earth are yous doing though?"
"It's not obvious we're building a beer bottle tower?" James asked, looking at Aaron, who was observing the 4 beer bottles balancing atop one another.
"Out of all the activities I spent time preparing, you two dopes decide to build a beer bottle tower? I mean we've got bowling, foot races, dino races. And you two, are building, a beer bottle tower."
"Hey, what's wrong with being a little creative?" James shrugged.
"Yeah, and I bet by the end of the night, as long as this stack of bottles is still standing, it'll be the centre of attention." Ryan pointed out, to which Aaron had to agree.
"That is true, I guess. Well then I'll leave you to it. Good luck with that."

"Cheers mate!" Ryan called out as Aaron walked off to check on the others.
"Be careful, man!" James spoke as Ryan set another bottle on top.
"Shut ta fuck up. See if you do that, when I'm placing the bottle, it's almost definitely going to go wrong."
"Yeah well it didn't did it?"
"No, because I'm just the best."
"Oh are you, yeah? That's funny considering I've saved you more times than you've saved me."
"Oh over the past day or two, sure yeah."

The were laughing for a moment before the heard the trees rustling from not far away, turning their attention away from the bottles and to the forest.
"What do you think that was?" James whispered to Ryan, who was staring intently at the tree line.
"I don't know. Jennifers the one you should be asking this things."
"I could've sworn you said you were the best just moments ago."
"Oh, you know what, I'm gonna break your nose." Ryan said, turning to James who turned to him.
"Oh you know what, kill yourself."
