Lunar New Year, the year of the dragon.

For many in Ninjago it was an excuse to celebrate and have fun with festival celebrations, fireworks, masks, and celebrations. People came together from far and wide to witness the parades and to enjoy themselves with their families and loved ones.

There was one however whom felt very alone on this Lunar New Year.

Zane Julien, elemental master of ice, nindroid, and white ninja sighs as he makes ice stars and throws them at a target in the wall. He was on watch duty, listening into chatter, see if anyone needed a ninja around, but sadly it seemed like no one needed them tonight. Well actually logically speaking that was supposed to be a good thing but it did leave Zane bored.

Two of his teammates were out on seperate missions in Ninjago, one two days journey away and one on the opposite side of the city. Then two of Zane's partners were on a mission to find their lost Master Wu in the mountains, and his final partner had gone out to patrol the city. At least Kai had left Ember behind to keep Zane company, but honestly the fire dragon wasn't too fond of Zane due to their contrasting elements.

Zane yawns. It was late, maybe he should go to bed?

"Zane Kai has just set off his distress signal." Zane is very awake now and he stood up eyes scanning the screen seeing the distress signal of his red lover on the map. Kai has never pushed his distress signal button before, not even when he was bleeding out on the ground in an alley. This had to be bad for him to set it off.

"Where is he?!" Zane yells panic already set in. "I am having trouble locating him. Something is interfering with the signals origins," Pixel answers clearly try to make it happen as Zane types things on the keyboard quickly trying to speed the process when a familiar voice broke through the coms.

"Zane? Hey Zane snowflake I am so sorry. I broke my promise," Kai's voice had static and was hard to make out but Zane could.

"Kai?! Kai where are you?!" Zane yells while trying to keep the panic from his voice. Kai sounded strained and pained.

"I thought it was just a robbery for cash. I was so so wrong. I'm in deep pit and I can't get out by myself, but I've made things hell for them and they don't even know it," Kai laughs softly his coms breaking out even more. "I hit my head it hurts is much and my leg is killing me."

"Kai! Where are you!? Ninja! Ninja everyone please respond Kai is in danger!" Zane contacts the others, but he knows they were too far for them to do anything to help.

"I don't know Frosty. I know I'd rather be back home with my family that's for sure. I even found something that would make everyone so happy especially Cole and Lloyd. Zane I'm sorry, tell everyone I'm sorry. I said I'd stop doing stupid things solo but I did something stupid again. Zane listen to me this is bad. This is overlord level shit bad. This gang isn't just a fad it is practically a cult!" His voice was starting to cut out and Zane heard a pitched female voice yell.

"Get him!"

"Shit! Zane their leader is-!" Zane heard the sickening crack of something and then the signal and the coms both went out before Zane could get a signal on the location.

"Distress signal lost. Zane I will alert the ninja."

Zane falls back in his seat his eyes wide and frost covering the room.

He leans on the keyboard and whispers.

"Kai what did you get yourself into now?"
