At the far side of Kuoh stood an ancient, abandoned church, with broken windows, crumbling walls, and layers of dust covering every surface.
Despite the numerous health hazards, two non-residents of Kuoh, affiliated with the church and Angels, sought refuge within its decaying walls.
One was Xenovia, an exorcist with blue hair and green locks, and the other was Irina, with chestnut hair.
After enduring a subpar bath, the two settled down in the dilapidated church to rest.
"We can't even get a proper bath!" Irina, frustrated by their circumstances, lamented the lack of a proper bath, "This must be another trial by the lord!"
"Please, don't." Xenovia scoffed sharply, "It's all because you wasted all our money on a scam painting!"
She pointed to the atrociously painted portrait of The Christ.
Irina gasped in offense at Xenovia's comment, "The figure in that painting is a saint! The man at the gallery assured me of that!"
Xenovia sighed, dropping her face into her palm, "Why am I stuck with you as my partner?"
Irina shook her head, "You never take things lightly, do you?"
"Just be quiet!" Xenovia snapped.
Xenovia's mood has been down ever since this afternoon, ever since she was defeated by the Devils. The Knight of Gremory didn't pose much of a threat, but the one who shattered their pride was the other one.
Artoria.
When Xenovia went one-on-one with her, she thought that Artoria was just a melodramatic girl playing hero. The heavy handed defeat she'd granted them, had served to relieve her of that notion.
They couldn't however, help but agree to the fact that Artoria was indeed way out of their league.
In the aftermath of a challenging battle, Xenovia and Irina sat at the alter in awe and... fear of Artoria Pendragon and her legendary weapon, Rhongomyniad, after being defeated by her unparalleled skill.
"The way Artoria wielded Rhongomyniad was nothing short of breathtaking." Xenovia commented, her voice full of admiration, "Her control over such a powerful weapon is truly remarkable."
"Indeed, her strategic prowess and precision in battle are unmatched." Irina, nodding in agreement, added, "It'd be no wonder if she turned out to be a formidable warrior and leader."
Despite their defeat, Xenovia and Irina found themselves humbled by the sheer prowess of Artoria Pendragon and the awe-inspiring capabilities of Rhongomyniad, recognizing the strength and skill that set her apart as The Lion King.
Their thoughts were followed by both of their stomachs growling loudly, indicating hunger.
Xenovia suggested, "Before we search for the Excaliburs, let's grab something to eat."
Irina proposed a risky idea, "What if we intimidate outsiders into giving us money?"
Xenovia hesitated, considering the moral implications as it would undoubtedly be stealing, but justified it by saying they would do it for a greater cause, for God, and thus forgiven.

The next day. Two individuals were seen sitting in a cafe, both in the same dress indicating that they're from the same school. One had messy short Blond hair and Grey eyes, while the other had short spiky Brown hair with two short locks of hair behind his head, and light Brown eyes.
