Elijah's POV.

The nerve that girl has. How dare she talk to me that way. I should teach her some manners. It's clear life on her own has done nothing but made her mouthy.

No matter, her manners will come in time. I just have to be patient and kind. I can't go hitting her every time she mouths off like I used to. I am trying to change after all and I want her to see it and be willing to change too.

I guess I was a bit to overbearing tonight. No matter, I'll just apologize in the morning and think of s way to make up for it. For now instead of going home I'm going to my business.

I turn the steering wheel of my trust and follow down a dark dirt road that leads to what is known as the bad part of town. I happen to be the leader of a gang here in town. We're a local gang but we don't tend to threaten or hurt people unless they threaten us first.

We refuse to deal on stuff such as human trafficking and any type of sexual related crimes. We have a little business we do as a cover up for what our gang really is about.

After a bit I pull into a dark drive way and park my car in front of the building. I open a compartment and grab my much needed essentials such as a gun and my keys.

I make sure I have my phone a wallet too as I turn off the truck and get out. I lock it behind me and make my way to the door. I unlock the door and walk in. No one is here, good. I need some time to myself anyway.

I lock the door back behind me and flick on all the lights. Some of the men here drink but I don't. I need to remain focused and drinking clouds my mind too much now.

I had to leave from here early today even though I didn't want too. We were following a pretty good lead on one of our targets. I walk to the main table where our work is scattered about. I sigh in annoyance. I told them to organize it and put it up but it seems they ignored that and left it out for anyone to see.

I'll have to have a private talk with those men soon. Since Devyn is spending the night at her friends house, I have all night to work on this lead.

We're been tracking a new stranger that has been in this town for a few weeks now. He's been completely by himself and looks like he hasn't showered in a year.

He somehow manages to talk people into buying him food and drinks in this town. He's taking advantage of the good people that live here and I will not stand for it.

I've had some men follow him when he leaves at night and they've followed him into the depths of the woods only for the guy to suddenly disappear and one of my men said he saw a wolf in the distance with red glowing eyes.

I've been looking into what a wolf with red eyes means. It's led me to pages about these supernatural creatures called rogues. They are werewolves that have no homes or packs to call their own and are essentially by themselves.

Could this guy be a werewolf? A rogue at that? I don't know. What I do know is just last week there was a mailing of an innocent human and then our target all but disappeared and we haven't seen him since.

So we've been looking into where he was last and where he could have gone to. If he's missing, my question is who took him? Where could he have gone, and if he's dead, who killed him? Where would the body be?

We have his last known location written down and some of my men are set to go there tomorrow to check everything out. I've done some more tea search on werewolves and have even spokes to the men about it. They are open to that of the supper natural and we went and bought things to protect ourselves against such creatures.

Such as silver daggers, bullets and chains in case we ever bring a love one back here. We even found this drug that's deadly to them called wolf bane. I had no idea it was a real thing.

My research has led me to know other things about werewolves. Such as how they act, what age they are estimated to shift for half bloods and full bloods alike. They symptoms they get just before. Also the fact that they can find a mate. A mate is known as their other half. They can feel everything the other person feels after they have mates for the first time.

If there are werewolves here in this town I must protect my daughter and keep her away from them. Especially the males of this town until I can determine if they are a werewolf or human.

I will do what I can to protect this town as well. It's my home after all and I refuse to let a group of wolves take over. Humans made this town and this town will always belong to the humans. No supernatural being is going to take what's rightfully ours.

My phone then buzzed and I quickly brought out my phone to check it. I felt a bit disappointed when I saw it wasn't from my daughter. No matter.

It was from my second in command here. His name is Luther. Good. He's letting me know that tomorrow is a go.

I really do what to find out what happened t this guy and what we can do to stop this from happening again. I've looked further into records and some people in this town have also disappeared in mysterious ways.

I hope this isn't something supernatural and just something we can handle easily. Until then I'll get these papers put up and work on what project comes next.
