Chapter 11.

Rome's POV.

Once all the humans left the party and all that was left was us werewolves, Alpha Lucian and Luna Ashina had all of us gather around the small stage we had used for some karaoke.

We were waiting though for some very special guests. As werewolves we try our hardest to keep the peace between our pack and parties of an other group such as the one we're waiting for.

The Queen of the fairies is coming with a group of elite soldiers to oversee the transfer of power, which will make me Beta. We created a peace treaty with them long ago and it's always good to see them even if we don't get along often.

We go to their separate events and they go to ours. Their Queens name is Elenor. She would be arriving any minute now. As I walk around checking over the rest of the pack, I find my mind wandering to Devyn and what she and Claudia could be doing right now.

I wish she were here to see this huge milestone in my life but I also understand that she can't for obvious reasons. She'll understand one day and I can't wait for that day.

Once I checked over the guest, myself and a few others started to get the ceremonial fire ready for the transfer of power. I was taught from a young age how to set up the ceremonial fire and this was my first time actually doing it.

We set the wood down in a neat little stack. The wood is a specific kind of wood that can only be found in rain forests. Deep within them. This type of wood was the wood used the very first time an Alpha transferred his powers to his son. Legend says they had tried so many different ways to transfer the power, but only the fire seemed to work.

The ones who are going to have the power transferred over to them are sent a season before the ceremony to a rain forest nearest them to fetch this type of wood themselves.

It's summer now. I went in early spring with my father and the two of us found the wood together, but I was the one who harvested it and then worked on it later to make it into perfect fire wood for the ceremony.

It was an amazing experience and I was so thrilled to have been able to do it with my father. The people helping me were making the mound of rocks around the pit where I stood stacking up the wood.

Once everything looked perfect, my father checked it over and gave me a proud smile and a thumbs up. I chuckled but grinned so wide my cheeks were beginning to hurt.

That's when we heard the sound of the fairies approaching. Fairies are rarely found because they can shirk themselves to the size of fireflies when need be so it makes it easier to hide for them.

So it was the sound of their wings flapping that we heard. Kind of like when a bee flies close to your ear. We then saw a blinding light of sparkles and when those cleared the Queen of the fairies and her best soldiers stood in front of us as full sized humans.

Queen Eleanor was wearing an elegant royal blue dress that hide her feet with how long it was. It was almost like a royal ball gown with how elegant it looked and on top of her head was the crown made out of twigs from their homeland and the most beautiful and rare flowers anyone has ever seen.

These flowers don't even exists for humans to see. They only bloom in the fairies homeland. They are called Blue Dust.

Upon the Queens arrival we all bowed to her in respect. She smiled and did a small bow of respect back to our Alpha and Luna.

" Thank you for allowing us to join you on this momentous occasion. " said Queen Eleanor.

" You are most welcome. It is always a joy to have you here with us. " said Luna Ashina.

" You look as elegant as ever Queen Eleanor. " said Alpha Lucian.

" Thank you very much. " she said.

She was led over to the stage and stood on our right side while all the important leaders from my pack stood to the right. I stood in the middle with my father facing the fire pit we built.

Everyone from the pack was now watching and smiling. " It's been such a fun night but the festivities don't bend here. There will be a celebration soon after this. Right now though it is time to make Beta Marcels son Rome into this packs newest Beta. I'd like to say a few words of appreciation first before we begin. " said Alpha Lucian.

He turned to look at my father. " Beta marvel, it has been an absolute honor to have worked alongside you for all these years. You've been fearless and strong when we faced hardships and you have been nothing but supportive and kind to this entire pack since you first arrived. I consider you a brother. Thank you for all your hard work and may it live on through your son. " said Alpha Lucian.

Everyone in the pack said thank you and my father smiled in appreciation. " Thank you everyone. It has been the biggest honor of my life to serve you all as your Beta. My son will be an even better Beta then I was. So remain strong and know I will still be here to help whenever the time comes. " said my father.

I smiled at him. " It is now time to light the ceremonial flame. " said Alpha Lucian.

I was given a match book and I lit a match against it and carefully started the fire. The wood caught fire right away. My father stepped forward with a silver dagger in his hand.

" With these few drops of blood I transfer my power into the ceremonial flame. " said my father as he used the dagger to cut the palm of his hand and dangle it over the flame.

A few drops of blood leaked out and sizzled as they landed in the flame. The flame grew massive all of a sudden and touched my fathers hand. It didn't burn him but there was a blue glow surrounding my father and the flame.

It soon returned to normal side and the blue faded from my fathers eyes. He smiled and removed his hand. He passed me the dagger. " Your turn my son. " he said.

I nodded and faced the crowd and the flame. " With a few drops of my blood, I accept the transfer of power from the ceremonial flame. " I said. I cut into my palm and slightly winced at the sting of sliver before I held out my hand and let my blood drip into the flame.

It flashed higher then it had with my father and the flame consumed my entire hand. It felt warm and tingly. I felt the transfer of power as it left the flame and entered my body.

The change of power was incredible and overwhelming. My eyes opened wide and I knew they were glowing blue like my fathers had. The flame soon died down and won't out on their own.

I pulled my hand back into towards my chest and pressed a cloth onto the wound that was there after someone had offered it to me.

" The ceremony was a complete success. Everyone, give a warm welcome to your new Beta. Beta Rome. " called Alpha Lucian.

Loud cheers rang out and people were grinning. I felt like my head was spinning. Like I was on a high of power. This will definitely take some getting used to. I did it though. I am now officially Beta.
