Chapter 1 Encounter

After reuniting with Hajime, he would take Nhazul back to his temporary base he made with his [Transmute] abilities. Once they had arrived, Hajime would explain everything that happened to him to Nhazul.

Nhazul: Hmm... I guess that explains the white hair, red eyes and missing arm...

Hajime: I just gotten back at the furry bastard when you came around. Where the hell have you been all this time? I thought you were dead.

Hearing this, Nhazul would just chuckle, looking at the fire.

Nhazul: The state I was in at the time... Death would have been something I wish took hold of me...

Hearing this, Hajime would raise a brow, before he explained how he had been trapped under debris from the bridge for a week straight. In his endless cycle of pain, due to being kept alive by the Ambrosia.

Hajime: Damn... Sounds like you had it just as rough... Sorry I didn't find you, I probably passed you dozens of times practicing my abilities.

Nhazul: It's whatever... What's done is done.

Hajime: If you were trapped under the debris all this time, how the hell did you get out?

Nhazul: I acquired something when I was trapped, I'm still trying to figure out what exactly what it is. Right now, I'm just calling it the [System].

Hajime: The System?

Nhazul: Yeah. While I was trapped, I received a notification, like I was in a video game, saying I completed the necessary requirements for a Quest called [Courage of the Weak]. After I accepted, I gained a few levels, blew through the debris. Afterwards, I had different huds and windows, like a video game interface. I have Daily Quests, an inventory, and even a in game shop. I leveled up even more killing monsters that were down here, including a massive cobra.

Hajime: Interesting. Think you can show me it?

Nhazul: You can't see it.

Hearing this, Hajime would just look at Nhazul annoyed.

Hajime: Why the hell not?

Nhazul: Because I've had it out this entire time. Which means only I'm able to see it.

Saying this, Nhazul would take out his Status Plate and showed Hajime his level, surprised to see he was level 20.

Hajime: Level 20 just from finishing that Quest and killing monsters?

Nhazul: Seems so.

Hajime would soon chuckle himself.

Hajime: This must be some funny joke. You grow stronger with whatever that System is, and me with Monster meat.

Hearing this, Nhazul would look at Hajime skeptical.

Nhazul: Monster meat? You've been eating Monster meat? How? Their meat it's essentially poison to us.

Hajime: I've been chugging down Ambrosia, while eating it. Turns out you can gain levels by eating it.

Nhazul: I see.

Soon, Nhazul would look back towards his status screen, seeing his level and narrowing his eyes.

Nhazul: I need to level more... These levels will be a necessity if I'm going to get out of here.

Soon, Nhazul looked down at his fist, clinching it tightly, narrowing his eyes once again.

Nhazul: I'm done being a weak piece of shit... I'm going to grow stronger... Strong enough to destroy anything in my path, anything standing in between me and getting home to Aoi.
