Jisoo

"I thought you liked acting." I hear Lisa say as I put on my sunglasses.

"I like." I simply say. I'm too busy watching the dynamic between Jennie and the new girl to figure out what's going on between them. I had never seen Jennie so close and affectionate with someone like that before, not even with V who was her boyfriend.

"Rosé is super excited, the girls are too, only you seem to be frustrated since the announcement." Lisa pushes me lightly with her shoulder. We are sitting on the university lawn while Jennie and the girl are sitting on a bench, talking animatedly about something because the cat-eyed girl has already laughed several times, making her cheeks even cuter.

Why does she laugh so easily with this Hoyeon? What does this girl have to make Jennie Kim smile? I run my hand over my face and feel my irritation grow.

"Why didn't you like the project? You will shine and it could be your first big job." I hear Irene say.

"I didn't like the story." I catch myself saying and mentally scold myself. Anger has the ability to remove the filters from my mind and I end up saying things I shouldn't.

"Why?" it's Rosé's turn to question me.

"Because I don't like the medieval era, the clothes are ugly." I simply say and I have to try really hard to look away from the new couple in front of me. Jennie didn't even text me that I was crazy for giving her that cupcake. She didn't even thank me. Idiot.

"Are you worried about that?" Irene laughs "Jennie is great, I highly doubt she will make any clothes that are ugly."

"Jennie hates me, I don't doubt that she would do something ugly just to make me look terrible." like some crazy attraction, I'm already watching Jennie again, but she disappeared along with Hoyeon.

"But Jennie is competitive, she will do her best to produce the best costumes for you and make you even more beautiful." Rosé says and I take a deep breath. Why am I feeling this way about Jennie?

"Did your parents invent this?" Seulgi says and that catches my attention.

"Yes."

"Why?" they say together and I let out another sigh.

"Because they want my first job to be great and well executed to evaluate my skills" I roll my eyes "You know how they are."

"I heard one of the professors saying that the presentation will be held at the university theater and they will even sell tickets." Irene smiles.

"Whatever, I'll never have peace anyway." I shrug "What's going on with all of you to stay away from Jennie in the last few weeks? Before, you were rarely around me and Bohyun, now you are here with me, what happened?"

"Since Hoyeon's arrival they have been hanging out together a lot, so we thought it would be better to get away from each other for a bit, but we are planning to do something together this weekend." Rosé says and I bite my mouth to avoid letting out a groan of frustration. Okay, the girl is pretty, but I'm much more. Before I can ask what's between the two, I receive a message from Bohyun asking me to have a snack at the cafe and I jump up.

"Bohyun called me to eat something, are you going with me or are you going to stay there?" I run my hands through my clothes, removing any traces of grass and look around us looking for Jennie.

"Let's stay." Lisa hugs Rosé "Then I'll send you a message about our plans for friday and saturday and you can decide whether to go with us and have some fun."

"And let's see." I let out an irritated sigh when I can't find Jennie.

It's been almost 3 weeks since that shitty musical announcement and since then I've had no peace. They gave me the script, we've already done some rehearsals, but so far Jennie hasn't spoken to me to discuss my costume or anything related to this work.

I push the cafe door hard and I'm looking for Bohyun when I see that Jennie and Hoyeon are sitting next to each other, with various papers spread out on the big table, and they seem to be debating about clothes because there are some drawings in front of them.

Great, instead of talking to me about it, she decided to talk to this random person who doesn't even know me. This job is going to a piece of shit, I knew Jennie hated me and would do something like this. I close my hands angrily and I'm about to turn around when I feel Bohyun backhug me and lift me slightly off the ground.

"You were quick." he is smiling widely as he puts me down and I turn to him.

"You took a while, what were you doing?"

"Swimming, the coach asked if you would come back." he takes my hand and leaves, pulling me towards a table that is on the opposite side of where Jennie and her new love are sitting.

"I miss swimming, but now with this project I don't know if I will have enough time to dedicate myself." I have to try hard not to watch them both.

"I think he wants you back because of the sponsorship." he shrugs and calls Felix to meet us. "What do you want to eat?"

"The usual." I smile slightly at Felix who gives a mischievous look towards Jennie and looks back at me. I hold his gaze and he laughs, shaking his head in denial.

"I'll have the usual too." the brunette looks around us and stops for a few seconds at Jennie's table. I shift uncomfortably and start to remember when it all started, when Felix questioned me about my supposed thing with Jennie Kim and how funny the whole story was. "You're more distracted since the announcement."

"I don't know what's happening to me, I can no longer have control over my thoughts and sometimes not even over my mouth." I lean back on the sofa and take off my sunglasses, throwing them on the table and then crossing my arms.

"Don't you know what's going on?" Bohyun leans back on the sofa too and has an amused smile on his face.

"No." I bite my mouth and avoid sighing. He's always known me too well and I don't know if I'm ready for this conversation.

"I never thought you were a coward or that you ran away from things like that, this new version of you is new to me." the brunette says softly "And I've already met many of your versions."

"I don't know what you're talking about." I look away and stare through the glass window. I can't risk facing him because I know I'll talk too much and I can't look at that table.

"Jisoo, if it's what you want, go after this, your parents don't need to know." Bohyun says after a few minutes of silence and I look at him again.

"What are you talking about?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"The fact that you want the person who has Mandu's contact on your phone." He gives a half smile and waves towards Jennie's table.

"I don't know where you got this absurd idea from." how could he know about this? There's no way, there's nothing in my messages that indicates this and I always delete the history.

"Do you really want to know?" he raises one of his eyebrows challenging me, seeming to be having fun and I feel my breath catch in my throat.

"No, I don't want to, because I don't know what you're talking about." I look at Jennie's table and see that Hoyeon is standing, massaging her shoulders. I pass my hand over my face and take a deep breath at the same moment Felix walks in front of me with our orders and serving us.

"Today some women are so angry..." the blonde whistles softly and shakes his head in denial. "It's funny to watch all this." he winks at me before leaving and I return my attention to Bohyun. I can't worry about what Jennie does or doesn't do, who she gets involved with or doesn't, because I have nothing to do with it.

I look at the order in front of me and see that my cappuccino mug has the number 1 drawn on the foam. I end up smiling involuntarily and take out my phone to take a photo of the drink, feeling my heart warm slightly and beat a little faster.
