Jisoo
After studying so diligently and focusing on the role of Eun Yeongro, and completing the audition, I now feel as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm proud of what I presented to the director and others responsible for the production of Snowdrop.
It's been three days, and I still haven't received any news, but I'm trying not to think about it. Here I am, at the gay bar near my house, sitting at the counter waiting for Chaelisa to arrive. My eyes keep drifting to the spot Jennie occupied the day everything started.
I let out a sigh as I do a quick mental review of recent events, still unsure of what to do about everything. I don't want to be away from Jennie, but I also can't give up my life and dreams to chase after her in Paris. Jennie is building her career, and I can't be dependent on her.
All I want is for us to be able to live together and build our careers side by side, but apparently, fate has different plans for us.
Sometimes I think it's better to end things and let each of us go our own way. Something tells me Jennie will stay in Paris permanently, while all my plans are based in Korea.
Other times, I think we should stay together and try to adjust our routines until we can be together again.
And there are moments when I just want to disappear so I won't have to deal with any of this. I wish everything could be simpler. It was so easy when we were just casually sleeping together.
"Hey, beautiful, I've been waving at you for a while to get your order," I hear the bartender snap her fingers near my face, and I turn to see the same woman from the day Jennie and I started everything.
"Sorry, I was lost in thought." I force a small smile at her, noticing the same look she had that day. "The usual, my favorite drink."
"Trouble in paradise?" she raises an eyebrow at me as she prepares my drink.
"Pretty much, just trying to figure out how to fix it."
"Don't worry, things always work out somehow." She winks as she hands me the drink.
"Chichoooooo!" Lisa's voice rings out. "Any news about the audition?"
"Lili!" I get up to hug her and Rosé, who doesn't look too happy with me. I grab my drink and motion for us to head to a table. "No news yet, but I'm confident. I hope to hear something today, even if it's a no."
"It's going to be a yes." Jennie's voice suddenly sounds behind me just as we choose our table and are about to sit down.
"Jennie." I turn to look at her. My girlfriend is so beautiful that sometimes I forget how to breathe, and when I remember she's going to Paris, my eyes sting with the urge to cry.
"I missed you." She hugs me tightly and whispers in my ear. I wrap my arms around her waist, returning the hug with all the strength I can muster, breathing in that wonderful scent that only she has.
"Are you two going to keep doing this, or are you going to sit down?" Rosé's teasing voice interrupts, and I sigh, pulling away from Jennie.
"We came here to have fun and relax."
"You're so bitter. Is Lisa not doing her homework?" Jennie smirks and takes a sip of my drink, making me laugh.
"She's on her period." Lisa pouts, making Rosé's face turn red.
"LISA!" The blonde smacks her girlfriend's arm, causing Jennie and me to burst out laughing.
Time passes quickly with light and playful conversation, but as the hours go by, I feel like this is a farewell, like it's the last time we'll share a moment like this. It starts to feel hard to breathe.
