It's the next day and I'm headed back to the Cullens house with Jasper. Ethan and Nathan wants to come again so we all load up in the car and go. We would run there, but since the sun is out today we don't want to risk anybody seeing us. Last night was amazing. Jasper got to know his sons and vice versa. They have a lot more in common than I thought they would. It made my heart full that they got along so well. We were in a comfortable silence until Jasper broke it.

"Nathan, I've been meaning to ask you something. Why were you carrying around a spare water bottle with mountain lion in it?"

"You know how you can feel everyone's emotions?" Jasper nods his head. "One of my gifts, sometimes I call it a curse, is enhanced smell. Because of that, everything is more enhanced than what a normal vampire can smell."

"What other gifts do yall have?"

"I also have the gift to sense danger," Nathan says.

"I have control over animals and forcefield," Ethan says. Jasper then looks at me, waiting for me to say something.

"What about you?" I gave out a huge sigh.

"I have shield, siren and......" I hesitated at the end, not knowing if I want to say what the last one is.

"And what? Is it that bad?" I stayed quiet after he asked me that. "Are you serious?"

"It can be used as both good and bad. It depends on who tries to get their hands on me." Jasper didn't like the fact that I said that because he growled at that statement.

"You know I would never let anyone lay their hands on you."

"I know, but to be on the safe side, I'm not going to mention what my last gift is. Ethan and Nathan don't even know what it is." He was silent for a minute before speaking up.

"Okay. I understand." Glad he did understand. I don't need anyone knowing that I also have Power Bestowal. It's the ability to sense and jump start latent powers in others. The subject was dropped and next thing you know we pulled up to the house. When we were getting out of the vehicle, Alice and her husband Luke met us at the door.

"Glad you came back Alyssa!" Alice said and she gave me a big hug.

"No problem." We all made our way to the front room and everybody was already in there waiting for us. We all sat in the same seats that we sat in yesterday. Before I could begin my story, Edward had something to say.

"Before you begin, I'm curious about something. For some reason, I can't read your, Nathan's or Ethan's thoughts and Alice can't see any of your futures. Why?" Before the boys could say anything, I butt in.

"That is intentional. I have a shield and I can block our thoughts from any unwanted visitors. Kinda like right now." I gave Edward a pointed stare. He was quiet before looking away. "Anyways, where did I leave off?"

"You and Jasper's mom held a memorial for him because a chaplain and notifier showed up at your door," Alice says. I nodded my head and continued the story.

*Flashback*

March 1863

It's been 2 months since we held the memorial for Jasper and I'm already arranging a funeral for Jasper's mom. She died from a broken heart. Literally. The death of her son took a huge toll on her and she couldn't live on without him. I tried to help her the best I can to keep living, but even that wasn't enough. I wish I had the time to grieve, but I don't get to because I have a set of twins that I got to take care of. I don't get to break down and cry at the fact that my husband is never coming home.
