It was a month after prom and we were all in the living room just lounging around. Even Angela was here.

"Hey, mom?" Nathan asks.

"Yeah?"

"Can you tell the story of how you and dad met?" After he asked that, everyone that wasn't present came rushing to the living room.

"Yes, pleeeeeeease!" Alice begged. I just looked at Jasper and he shrugged his shoulders.

"Alrighty. Get comfortable." Everyone got into a comfortable position before I began the story on how Jasper and I crossed paths.

"I came from a wealthy family and Jasper came from a struggling household. Every girl thought my life was perfect and would say how lucky I was to be born into a wealthy family. Honestly, my life was far from perfect and I absolutely hated it."

"And I just lost my father 1 month before meeting her," Jasper adds in.

*Flashback*

It was my 15th birthday today and dad is sending me to a bakery owned by an Elizabeth Whitlock. She makes the best bread in town and dad won't get it anywhere else.

When I make it to the bakery, I walked in and saw a boy with blond curly hair putting bread into the wood fired bread over. "Hello?" He whipped his head around and then wiped sweat off his forehead. He is wearing a dirty white shirt with his sleeves rolled up and has an apron on. We are just looking at each other and just stared. For some reason, I can feel butterflies in my stomach and feel my heart warming. What is this feeling? He was the first one to snap out of it.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes. I came to buy a couple of loaves of bread."

"Alright. Just grab what you want and I'll ring you up." I just nodded my head. I grabbed what I needed and went to the counter to check out after putting everything in the basket that I brought. I didn't say anything at first because I was nervous. Get yourself together Alyssa. You are never nervous around guys.

"So, I never seen you around here before. What's your name?"

"Alyssa King. Yours?"

"Jasper Whitlock. Nice to meet you ma'am." I blushed when he called me ma'am. Nobody has ever called me that. It's always been miss or hun and it just rubs me wrong. When Jasper called me ma'am, it actually sounded right.

After ringing me up, he handed me my basket back. "Have a good rest of your day." He gave me a smile and I smiled back at him.

"You too." As I was walking to the door, I kept glancing back at him and he was staring at me every single time. It broke my heart when I shut that door behind me. I didn't want to leave him just yet.

-- 1 year later --

It's been one year since I met Jasper and I have been going to see him as much as I can. Always making excuses as to why I'm there. I eventually started running out of excuses, but that didn't stop me. By the way he looks at me sometimes, I think he knows what I'm doing. If he does, then he doesn't say anything. He just lets me continue on with my excuses. We got to know each other more and became closer and closer as time passed. I even got to meet his mom and she was a very nice lady.

It's now my 16th birthday and my father wants me to stay at the house today. He says he has an important person coming over that he is trying to get in business with and wants me to meet him. Why do I all of a sudden get a bad feeling about this?

The guy he is meeting finally arrived and I am in a nice green dress and matching shoes. Standing off to the side like father wanted me to. When I hear footsteps, I look up and see an elderly man there.
