2 Years Later
It's been a couple of years since Ethan, Nathan and I have reunited with Jasper. His family have accepted us with open arms, except Rosalie. It took her a couple of weeks, but she finally came around. Once she found out that we have a lot in common, she let go of whatever was holding her back and let the three of us in. I ended up being closer to her than anyone else. Ethan and Nathan got along with Emmett and Luke right away. They both like to make it into a competition with Emmett on who can catch a bear first. Of course, Emmett being a man child like he is, falls for it every single time. It's funny watching Emmett get defeated 99% of the time. He has finally met his match.
Jasper has moved in with us and I couldn't be any happier. At first he wanted us to move in with him, but we needed our own privacy and space. He understood so I asked him and of course he said yes. It's like we were a family all over again. I hate that the family that Rosalie always wanted was taken away from her and we had a long talk about it. If it wasn't for Garrett, I would probably be dead right now and who knows what would've happened with Nathan and Ethan. If the boys didn't get the fever, then I would let them live as much as a human life they possibly could. This is the last thing I want for anyone. Are there good things that came out of me and the boys turning? Yes. Are there bad things? Also, yes. Would I go back and change it? Probably not. That's another conversation for another day though.
We are currently sitting in the front room of Carlisle's house, all of us playing some sort of game until Alice goes into a vision. Her eyes are glazed over for almost a minute before she finally comes around. Edward just looks at her.
"Are you sure Alice?"
"Yes Edward." Nobody knows what's going on and Carlisle finally speaks up.
"What's going on Alice?"
"There is a new girl coming to town and I see her around Edward. I can't tell if she is his mate or blood singer." Rosalie and I look at each other. We don't have to speak to know what the other was saying. If this girl is his blood singer and not his mate, then she is going to be causing a lot of problems. Having humans involved with us is already risky enough, but to have a blood singer involved...... that's just a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. Let's hope that she is his mate instead.
"When is she coming?" Carlisle asked.
"She's coming next month. Sometime at the beginning of January." Carlisle just nodded his head and nobody else said a word. Well, it was going to be nobody but I spoke too soon.
"If it's your blood singer Edward, then you either just kill her or don't interact with her. We don't need humans involved and have the Volturi coming after our asses," Rosalie said with a sneer.
"I agree with Rose. You guys may have some control of your thirst, not as experienced as Carlisle, but Luke, Nathan and Jasper are still trying to get a handle on all of this. Jasper more than anybody because he can feel all of our blood lust on top of his. Nathan is right up there with Jasper if not above him because one of his gifts is heightened smell. He can smell human blood faster than you can and is more tempting. That's why he always carries around extra blood in a stanless steel cup just in case. If you bring a blood singer around, then you might as well be dangling a fresh carcass in front of him and tell him to come and eat." They all look at me except Edward and nodded their heads.
"I'm only going to say this once Edward so you better listen carefully. If she's not your mate, then you need to stay away from her. I say this because when push comes to shove and if it ever comes down to it, hoping like hell that it never does, I will put my children first before you or any human you bring around. I'm not going to let a human jeopardize my family because of your idiotic decisions." Everybody was left speechless and Rosalie had a smile on her face. Instead of saying anything, Edward got up and left out the door.
"Don't worry Alyssa. He will come around," Esme says, trying to reassure me.
"It's not that. I just hope that he makes the right decision because I will not be involved with this and neither will my kids. We already been through enough shit with humans that could last us a life time." Jasper gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead. Nathan and Ethan quickly agreed with me.
"Then why do you say it's okay to let them have human friends?" Emmett asks.
"I told them they can make friends, but to just be careful around them because at the time I was the only other vampire around. I mean come on. Who wants to hang out with just their mother anymore? They are the ones that chose to not make human friends. I didn't force them to do anything. I let them make their own choices as long as it doesn't expose our kind and risk others from finding out what we are. If I feel like it's a risk or think it's going to expose us, then that's when I will step in. I've only had to step in one time so far and that's because some guy that Ethan befriended 7 years ago got too nosey and I caught him snooping through his things."
"Yep and it was funny watching him get all scared when mom went off on him. He literally peed his pants. He never spoke to me again after that day," Ethan said. "Good thing there was a lock on that mini fridge I had or he would've seen those blood bags. How would I have been able to explain that?" I laughed at that memory.
We continued down memory lane, everyone telling stories from the past, until it got dark and we decided to head back home. Jasper and I talked about the possibilities of what could happen once Edward's blood singer/mate got here. Whatever happens, we are in this together as a family.
