Kat sat with Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Ross and Joey at their spot in Central Perk. They were talking about why kissing was important.
"What you guys don't understand is, for us, kissing is as important as any part of it." Monica told the guys, her arms holding her legs while she sat. Rachel swayed back and forth on the swivel chair next to the armrest next to Monica. On the other side of Monica was Kat, then Chandler, then Ross then Joey. Phoebe sat next to Rachel.
Joey laughed, "Yeah right." When none of the girls laughed, he looked at them. "Y'serious?"
"Oh yeah." Phoebe said while Kat nodded.
"Kissing is, like..." Kat paused, "Like everything stops. The world stops. It's just you two. I-it's like science for Ross, or sandwiches for Joey."
"Yeah." Rachel added, nodding at what Kat said. "Everything you need to know is in that first kiss."
"Absolutely," Monica confirmed.
"Yeah, I think for us, kissing is pretty much like an opening act, y'know? I mean it's like the stand-up comedian you have to sit through before Pink Floyd comes out." Chandler put his arms out almost as though he were embracing Pink Floyd. Kat looked at her brother and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah," Ross said, "And-- And-- it's not that we don't like that comedian, it's that-- that...that's not why we bought the ticket..." All the girls said nothing as they looked in disbelief at the guys.
"Y'see the problem is, though," Chandler raised his index finger, "After the concert's over, no matter how great the show was, you girls are always looking for the comedian again," Ross nodded at what Chandler was saying. "Y'know? I mean, we're in the car, we're fighting traffic... basically just trying to stay awake."
Rachel swiveled her chair again. "Yeah, well word of advice: Bring back the comedian. Otherwise next time you're gonna find yourself sitting at home, listening to that album alone." Monica held out her hand and Rachel high fived it.
"Amen." Kat agreed, reaching over Monica to give Rachel a high five as well.
Joey paused and nudged Ross' leg, "...Are we still talking about sex?" Ross nodded and gave Joey a thumbs up.
Kat rolled her eyes and checked her watch and cursed. "I've gotta go to work." Kat stood up and gave Monica a hug and kiss on the cheek, then gave one to each of her friends and left the cafe, feeling like everything that guys had told before that day her was a lie.

After work, Kat joined her friends at Monica and Rachel's apartment, Kat was typing on a typewriter, her feet on the coffee table in the living room, sitting next to Chandler while he, Phoebe, Joey and Monica watched Three's Company. Joey had his legs thrown over the arms of the armchair while Monica cleaned under the coffee table.
Kat was having writer's block and was trying to focus on ideas.
"Oh, I think this is the episode of Three's Company where there's some kind of misunderstanding." Chandler said, Kat looked up at her brother and rolled her eyes.
"Then I've already seen this one." Phoebe grabbed the remote and turned off the TV.
Monica took the cup from Joey, "Are you through with that? Thank you."
"Yeah, sorry," Joey responded, "The swallowing slowed me down."
Kat rolled her eyes again and looked back at her typewriter. Nothing. She had nothing. She was supposed to show her editor a rough sketch of her story idea layout but she had nothing.
