Kita's POV
I hate school. Yeah I know, many kids say so, but I have a better reason than homework, the morning alarm, or tests : the people.
The teacher calls me. I take a deep breath, release it, then adjust my bag before entering the classroom. I get up the stage and face the students.
At first the looks are curious. Then quickly all of them find my armband and its unique gray stripe and the faces change. Disdainful, haughty, sadistic. I quickly scan them all and sigh. The free colors ( minus the Whites, but there are none here, it's an endangered specie anyway ) don't give a damn about a low level like me, or are happy to have found a new punching-ball. And the low levels, mainly some two or three stripes, either don't care or are exited to have found someone weaker than them. It makes them feel strong apparently.
Teacher whatever : Silence please ! Come on, introduce yourself.
Me : Hello, my name is Kita Aizawa, pleasure to meet you.
Nope, not at all. If I could I'd be anywhere but here. Well, here or any other place with people looking at me. I hate speaking, especially in public, and all these students are looking at me as if I was their next meal. I can't show weakness. But I can't either...
Teacher : Go and sit down, your place is at the bottom, next to the window.
I nod and go to my desk. Then the lessons started. Once the lunch break arrived I prepared for anything. I was a new student, dropped in the middle of the school year, and hadn't even presented my quirk, so you could have expected classmates to come and talk to me, asking me questions, this kind of things. BUT I was a « one stripe ». Weak. Useless. A weight to society. So the scenario will probably be a bit different.
Scenario n°1 : there is some f*cking miracle and someone comes to me with pure intensions. Probability ? 0.0000000000001% at best.
Scenario n°2 : someone comes to me and pretends to become my friend, only to betray me when they need to cover for some bullshit they did, betray me and make sure it hurts like hell, or simply exploits me. It already happened before, it's half of the reason of why I join this school in the middle of the year.
Scenario n°3 : someone comes to talk to me, but purely to start a continuous cycle of physical and mental bullying. That, too, already happened before, it's the other halve of why I'm starting here and now.
Scenario n°4 : People ignore me because, why wasting time and energy on an almost-quirkless girl ? Honestly, that would be awesome.
Bully (?) n°1 : Oi ! Trash girl !
I silently growl, mentally banging my head against the desk. Scenario n°3 then. And without any subtlety. Seriously guys, I just came here, you could at least wait for me to « make a mistake » or « disrespect you » ! It would at least give you a semblance of excuse !
Bully n°1 : Oi, you ignoring me ?!
Two hands fall down on my desk. Oops. « disrespect you » : checked. I slowly brought my eyes up his arms, until landing on an armband... Green. Shit.
I looked up to the guy's face. He had a pale skin, almost pearly, a thin face, long luminous white hair, slightly wavy, and golden ey...
Me : Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh !!!!!!
I jump backward, hands on my eyes. It burns ! I could hear the others laughing, but when I tried to look I only saw black.
I almost panicked, but slowly my sighting came back, and I could face my attackers. The Green had a light quirk, when his eyes had met mine he had his glowing, more strongly than a floodlight. I was sure that if he wanted he could render me blind. And seeing as his skin and hair had started to shine he could probably do so with his whole body.
Next to him his acolytes where laughing their heads off. I quickly scanned them : two triple green stripes and one Blue. Even if society prefers flashy quirks, it truly respect analysts and good doctors, so I wasn't really surprised to see a Blue hanging with the top of the hierarchy. Any sensible leader would enroll a healer, even one who thinks himself invincible. If only for the status.
I'm ejected from my thoughts by a dart flying at me. I instinctually dodge it, but it still grazes my cheek. Normally it shouldn't be deep enough to require stitches, but if I hadn't reacted fast enough...
Bully n°2 : Eh, she's fast !
I quickly analyse him. He has three tails endowed with darts, which fidget behind him, and comparing their size with the distance between us, it quickly become obvious that he can elongate or shorten them at will, even though their size limit remain unknown. And they are really fast.
As for sidekick number two, he had some nice elastic members, as I discover when his arms — that he had hide behind his back — crawled toward me to pull me by the ankles and make me fall.
I violently hit my head on the ground, and is then lifted by the ankle and maintained in the air, upside down, for the great pleasure of the two other bullies who start to hit me. Then, at last, they decide that they are bored and go eating, dropping me on the floor.
Elastic bully : Ah, pathetic ! She doesn't even try to fight back !
Darts bully : Pff, as if she could, she is almost quirkless, what could she possibly do ?
Light bully : Hmm, at least she knows her place, give that to her.
All of them : Ah ah ah ah ah !!!
I grit my teeth while their laughs move away. I spit some blood, while a few drop fall from the scratch on my cheek. Fortunately it's my only visible injury.
I stare at the shining tiles, and they send me back a weak red light. Their comments run in my head, endlessly. « She is almost quirkless, what could she possibly do ? ». If only you knew...
I sigh and get up, inspecting my clothes. After a quick smoothing, all traces of the « incident » were gone. As for my cheek I'll say that I made it while running in the forest. My father will probably believe me, even him got hit by boughs while training... Yeah, no. That was actually uncle Mic.
I vaguely hope that the situation will cool down a bit with time. Unlikely, but who knows ? Every children are exited when given a new toy, then grow tired of it. If not...
If not I will probably end up loosing it again. But I don't want it, I know that I brought a lot of troubles to my dad last time, I can't make him go through that again.
Oh well, I only had to grit my teeth, smile and hope.
