Meeting

Hindi ko alam kung paano ko natakasan ang matalim at nagtatanong na titig ni Constantine. Alam kong nagdududa siya pero dahil sinabi ko, pinaniwalaan niya. I know, time will come and they will hate me for keeping their father away from them. Pero sana kapag dumating ang panahon na 'yon, hindi sila mawala sa akin.

Hindi ko kaya mawala ang kambal sa akin. Takot na nga ako sa kanilang Ama, takot pa akong mawala sila sa akin. For the meantime, I should enjoy our moments together. Lumalaki na sila at dadating ang panahon na aalis sila sa akin dahil bubuo ng kanilang pamilya.

"Kailan mo sasabihin sa kambal ang tungkol sa Papa nila, Ris?" tanong sa akin ni Jenjen.

Napahinga ako at nagpatuloy sa pagbabasa ng reports ngayong buwan. Jenjen is my co-helper and at the same time, best friend. She graduated from Nursing and yet, she chose to work here.

"I'm not ready yet, Jen. Alam mo kung gaano kaimpluwensya ang kanilang Papa--"

"Pati kung gaano kasarap! Grabe ang itsura no'n, veh! Paano mo nakayang iwan ang ganoong mukha at yaman at sarap?" she cut me off.

Umirap ako at umiling sa kaibigan. Siraulo talaga!

"Stop playing around, Jenika!" sagot ko nalang sa kanya.

She laughed. After Mama Mirna died, Jenika came into my life. She helped me here. From renovating the main branch, to guiding me the twins. Indeed, she's a good nurse. Hindi nga lang tinuloy ang pangarap na tinapos.

"What? Totoo naman e! That man is screaming hot and power! Ano kaya magiging reaksyon no'n kapag makita ang kambal?" she said excitedly.

I shook my head. Hindi na ako makapag-concentrate sa binabasa. Jenika is very talkative.

"Constantine showing his father aura, Ris! Kapag magkita 'yan, siguradong guguho ang buhay mo." she said as if I'm not her friend.

I rolled my eyes at her. She's very supportive of my twin father's. Dati pa siyang ganyan. She's very fanatic of romance and a happy ending. I don't know why my friend is acting like this.

"I'm afraid it might happen, Jen. Constantine is eager to know his father. Paano ko maisasalba ang sarili kapag mangyari 'yon?" I asked my friend.

She sighed and looked at me.

"Friend, habang maaga pa, gawin mo na. Kapag lumaki pa lalo yan, baka sa huli, ikaw ang umiyak at magdusa." she advised.

Napapikit ako sa mga salitang sinabi niya. What is my problem? Why am I acting like this? Why am I doing this? Twins deserve a father. Clive has the right to know the twins. I'm really a selfish mother.

Tinapos kong i-review ang reports na binigay ni Zekiel, ang apo ni Mama Mirna. He's helping me running the business. Zekiel and Theodore is Mama Mirna's grandson from her brother. Silang dalawa ang may hawak ng ibang branch.

As I was reviewing the reports, I got some error with Zekiel's financial report. May mga lapses and I don't know why it happened. I dial España branch telephone number. After ringing, someone answers the call.

"Mirna Business Corp, speaking?"

It was Zekiel.

"This is Narissa. I'd like to ask some questions regarding the financial report you provided." I said seriously.

I heard his deep sighed. Adrel is good at handling the branch. I must say, sa kanilang dalawa ni Theodore,  si Zekiel ang matino. But this month, he's been going rough.

"What is it?" malamig niyang sabi.

"Lapses from the financial report were showing. From 3% down to 2? Nasaan ang ibang kita?" I said frankly.

"Sorry to inform you late, I planned to renovate the branch from España to Quezon Avenue." he informed.

He what? Renovate España and Quezon Avenue branch? He didn't mention it during our last meeting. Bakit ngayon lang?

"You had the chance to present the renovation during the last meeting, Zeke." I said coldly.

"Again, sorry to inform you late, I decided to renovate the branch alone. CVHC will be the one who will handle the renovation. The renovation funds were already deposited. If you want to back it out, then talk to them." he said without inhibition.

Napapikit nalang ako. Zekiel did it without telling us! Paano nalang kung hindi maging maayos ang renovation? May blueprint ba? May proposal? Paano niya ginawa 'to ng hindi namin alam? This is a serious matter! Hindi lang umiikot ang negosyo sa kanya! He should not decide on his own!

"I want to know the proposal. To proceed with your idea, present it first." malamig kong usal.

He cursed from the other line.

"It's already done. If you want to check the proposal, then check it with yourself. CVHC is always open, ask for the proposal." aniya and he hangs up the call.

Napahinga na lamang ako. Naging siraulo na rin itong si Zekiel. Kung gaano ko iniingatan ang negosyo ganoon naman nila hinahayaan itong bumagsak. Renovation won't do anything with the business. Another waste of money. Another waste of income.

Paano ko makikita ang proposal ng renovation? Zeke is not coordinating with me. He wants me to coordinate with the company who took the renovation. Siya ang nakipag-negotiate dapat siya ang magbigay ng proposal sa akin.

Theodore for sure doesn't know about this. Paano malalaman ng isang 'yon ang nangyayari sa negosyo puro pangba-babae lang naman ang alam no'n! Kung lang sana sila apo ni Mama Mirna, hindi ko na sila kukunin pa! Mabuti pa si Jenika, she's very helpful!

My phone vibrates for a message. Binuksan ko ang cellphone at binasa ang message ni Zeke.

Zekiel:

You can ask for the proposal from the president of CVHC. I can set the meeting for you.

I rolled my eyes. Ako pa ngayon ang nagkaroon ng problema!

Ako:

Fine! Siguraduhin mong magiging maayos ang renovation na 'yan!

I hit the button to send it. Tinignan ko ang picture ni Mama Mirna, she was smiling happily at the frame. I miss you, Mama Mirna. Your grandson is giving me a headache.

Zekiel:

Come on, Narissa! I've been good when I handle the branch. Ngayon lang ako pumalya. Give it a chance.

Bumuntong hininga. Sana nga maging worth it ang renovation na 'yan!

Ako:

Set the meeting. I just want to know the proposal.

After sending it, napahinga nalang ako at hinayaan ang sarili na magpahinga sa office. I just hope the meeting will turn out well for the renovation.
