"Thank you for meeting me," Aj says, taking a sip of his iced-tea.

"Of course, you are technically my brother," Alyah replies.

Aj had called the only person he could think of. Alyah. She was technically his sister, and right now he needed his sister more than ever. His older sisters were all on some girls trip with their mum, whilst his brother stayed at his grandparents. She was his closest family right now. Also the fact, she knew all about Niko and his dad coming back, whilst his family were left in the dark. It was for their own safety of course, but he still felt bad about it.

"Yeah, I guess so." Aj replies. He loved his family, and if Alyah was actually 'good' and on their side as Niko said she was, then he wants to accept her- as his sister.

They had been talking for a while, catching up on things and getting to know each other properly, which then fell into a comfortable silence. Their conversation flew easily, as if they had known each other their whole lives, and they got on really well. Their personalities matched, and Aj felt nice to finally have a sibling who's this close in age to him. He was always close with his oldest sister, even as a kid, whilst his other two sisters were attached at  the hip. Due to their age gap, their friendship was sort of limited, Sayeeda getting  wrapped up in her husband and her friends. They were still close, but being 11 years older meant that by the time she was done with Uni, Aj was starting secondary school- both being enticed by their own lives. Farah was only 4 years older than Aj, but they weren't very similar, and not as close as Aj would've liked.

"So, what's up." Alyah breaks the silence to say.

"Huh?"

"I mean, I'm glad you've finally accepted me as your sister and all, but there's obviously another reason you wanted to meet me."

Ah fuck. "Ok fine. Recently Niko has been a bit more- i don't know- on edge. He's been pushing and hurting all of us. No one has spoken about it, but he looks stressed out. Usually he's fine with me not wanting to hug him, but earlier after you left, he tried to hug me and I stepped away, he got mad. I don't know what's up with him, and he won't tell me if something has happened."

Alyah nods along to Aj's story. "Mhm. What do you think could've happened?"

"A while ago, I got a phone call from someone saying I should watch my back. I thought it was you or Samir. Do you - would you know if he's contacted him too. Maybe he's still  mad about something?"

"I can see. Let me make a phone call one second,"

Aj nods as Alyah rings a name Aj can't see.

"Hey Mills...mhm yeah... Alright... Are you sure... Ok... See you soon Babe... Bye Bye," Alyah ends the call.

"So?" AJ asks hopefully

"That was my girlfriend, Millie. She's got inside sources into that whole thing, and it turns out, yes. Samir is pretty pissed that Niko and I left. He assumed Niko would want to stay.Aj do you know why he wanted you to begin with?"

Aj shakes his head, no, he technically doesn't.

"To get out as an adult, you need to put someone in. Samir wanted out. So he put you in at first, then you left. He then got Niko, but he left too. That meant they wanted him back. There's one more thing Aj. Another way to get out."

"What is it?"

"You can kill. Kill someone. But it has to be a family member, someone in the group. If you do it and get away with it. You're out."

Aj widens his eyes in fear, "Uhm - how did you get out then?"

"Millie works in IT and some other stuff. She found a way into the system and pulled some strings to get me out. That's how I met her actually. Also, I'm a girl. They don't care if I leave or stay because," Alyah changes her tone to a mocking one, " 'I'm weak and sensitive' pfft as if."
