The Relic

After walking through the portal and into the New York sanctum, I go straight to my quarters whenever I spend the night, and get myself quickly cleaned up and put on my uniform. I take a deep breath and start making my way to the relic room where all the relics were stored and kept safe. I had to choose mine wisely. I reach the top of the stairs and The Ancient one is standing there as if she was waiting for me. "Ms. Strange." She greeted me. "Ancient one, I can explain exactly why I'm here. HYDRA has been under S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar and are planning on killing billions of people in the next few hours. I..." The ancient one raises her hand silencing me. She looked at me not upset but calm and understanding. "You need a relic to aid you. What a coincidence. I was actually waiting on you to inform you that you are ready for a relic." She said. "Wait really? You're not going to ask why I'm wanted by S.H.I.E.L.D.?" I asked with raised eyebrows. "What was that?" She asked. "Nothing." I take a step forward and look at each of the relics. There was the Axe of Tuirbe Tragmar. I wasn't going to be dealing with water. Excalibur, honestly I didn't know until now it existed. The Eye of Agamoto... honestly it wasn't really calling to me. Looking at each relic had their advantages. But not the advantage I needed. That's when one catches my eye. I walk to the case and watch as a red cloak floats gracefully in its case. It even adjusting to my height. "The cloak of Levitation seems to like you." The ancient one says and I smile. "It's perfect." I say and the Ancient one raises her hand, releasing the spell and the door on the case opens. The cloak goes to me and rests itself on my shoulders. "I'd love to stay longer but..."  "Go. You have your duty as the Mage. Live it." The ancient one says. I smile and open a portal to our meetup spot and walk through closing the portal as I was now in the middle of the woods looking at S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters. I hear footsteps behind me and I cast a spell putting the mask I had on, on the Leumarian Star, and turn around seeing, Steve, Sam, and Maria. Steve holds up his hands letting him know it was him. "Just us. Laura is going with Nat to be under cover as the counsel woman's secretary." Steve said and I nod. We all take a brief moment to look at the building before Maria led the way with Steve following in his old Captain America uniform. Honestly it looked pretty tight on him since I can see his Washington Monument peaking out. As I started to follow Sam placed his hand on my shoulder. "I thought capes weren't your thing?" He said and the cloak of levitation moved to slap his hand off me only for him to shriek like a little girl. "That thing's alive?!" Sam said obviously freaking out. I tried everything I could to not laugh. "Sorta. It's magic. And it's not a cape, it's a cloak. You probably offended it by that name." I said and the cloak lifts me up without warning to catch me up with Steve and Maria.

After MANY times of trying to convince Steve to let me open a portal we finally get to the building and go to the computer room. There was 2 hours until launch and everyone was in position. Maria was outside by the satellites to mess with the radio frequency while Steve, Sam, and I were outside the door. I hear the door unlock and the employee behind the door opened it only for his eyes to go wide when he saw Steve standing and Sam with a gun drawn to the employee.  "Excuse us." Steve said taking a few steps forward and the employee instantly lets us through and we walk in the room closing and locking the door behind us. Maria then goes to one of the computers and gets the intercom prepared for Steve to make his big announcement. Oh to see the look on Pierce's face. I have got to ask Nat and Laura after all this is over.

Maria steps aside after pressing a few buttons. "All yours Cap." She says and we watch Steve walk to the mic and press the button. "Attention all S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, this is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me over the past few days. Some of you were even ordered to hunt me down. But I think it's time you know the truth." There was a big pause as Steve looked up from the mic. "S.H.I.E.L.D. is not what we thought it was. It's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. He even had Agent Laura Smith kidnapped to get information about Director Fury. The S.T.R.I.K.E. and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don't know how many more, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want. Absolute control. They shot Nick Fury. And it won't end there. If you launch those helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way. Unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot. But the price of freedom is high. It always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not." Steve finishes his speech and I smile at him.

Sam then takes a few steps forward. "Did you write that down first or was it off the top of your head?" Sam asked and I let out a small laugh. "Come on. We have a some helicarriers to destroy." I said and head to the door we entered and walk down the stairs to the launch area.

The three of us get to the bottom of the stairs and I feel the railing rumble. "No no no no... the bay doors are opening. they started the launch early." I said looking up at Steve. "Go to the quinjet area. The helicarriers are under the lake." Steve orders and I nod running down the stairs and run through the doors going down a hallway. "They're initiating launch." Maria says over our headsets. "Yeah, no shit!" I say running down the hall. We then get outside and Steve and Sam run along side me. "Hey Cap, how do you know the good guys from the bad guys?" Sam asked. "If they're shooting at you they're bad." Steve says and Sam starts up his suit and starts flying while Steve jumps onto the lower helicarrier and I start to fly down following Steve for a little bit of help, with the cloak of levitation aiding me. Steve and I had a small argument about me going solo but he won the argument because he wanted me to redo the date with Tom Hiddleston. We all had our assigned helicarriers, Me at 'Alpha' while Steve took care of the crew that would be heading to the area I needed to be, Sam at 'Bravo', and I help Steve to 'Charlie' since it would possibly be the highest.

Once Steve and I land on platform 'Alpha', bullets are already saying hello to us. I quickly summon a shield for Steve while making a portal with my other hand for the bullets to fly through and hit each of the people firing at us. As I look over in Steve's direction, an explosion erupts behind a large storage container. We continue running to the Helicarrier entrance when we hear Sam over our ear pieces. "Hey cap! I found those bad guys you were talking about." "You ok?" I ask as Steve throws his shield to a guy who was about to shoot me. "I'm not dead yet!" He says and I can see him in the distance, cannons firing in his direction and missing him.

2 minutes of fighting goes by and I push a group of men to the nearest wall in the hallway and pull the hand railing out wrapping it around all 7 of them tightly.  "Eight minutes, Mage." Maria informs. "Yeah, we're working on it." I respond as I relax my fist and feel the cloak come off me and I turn around and widen my eyes to see the cloak of levitation wrapping itself around a guys head while using the corner of the material to hold the gun away from aiming at me. I look over at Steve to see he had the exact same expression as I did. When I look back at it, the cloak snaps the guys neck and drops him then floats back to my shoulders as if nothing happened.

I look back at Steve and he was as pale as the stars on old glory herself. "Remind me not to make you mad." He said. "Me? You should be worried about making the cloak mad." I said and continued down the hallway. "Falcon, what's your status?" Maria said over the mics. "Engaging!" Sam replied. "A few seconds pass and Sam speaks again. "Alright cap I'm in..... oh shit!" I then put my finger to my earpiece. "Sam, are you ok?" I asked. "I got quinnjets on my tail, Mage!" He says as there's gunfire in the background.  We continue running and I open portals for HYDRA soldiers to fall into.  We get to the chips location and Steve opens the door like the gentleman he is and I run through going to the console putting in the code, replacing the old chip with the new one quickly, the new one lighting up after I put it in. "Alpha locked!" I say as Steve and I run down the bridge to head to the next Hellicarrier. Even though it was just one ship, it sure did relieve a ton of weight on my shoulders. The cloak pats my shoulder as a 'good job' gesture. I smile and think to myself. 'One down, two to go.'
