There was another one. Another fucking transfer student. Honestly, he's sure every student in the school was a "transfer student" at one point or another. It was getting a bit weird, but whatever. Asher sat in class without Saiki at his side, accidentally and unfortunately arriving way earlier than intended.

His head rested on his hand lazily as an unfamiliar girl strut her way into the classroom. Admittedly, she was gorgeous, with her blonde hair contrasting her skin and the pop of color that were her accessories. However, it was nothing more of a simple compliment Asher mentally gave her before looking away again.

The brunette was uninterested in the conversation his friends had with the female, counting the seconds that went by without Saiki. He almost didn't hear the call of his name from Nendou. "Hey, buddy! What're you doing moping over there? C'mere, she can show you something cool!"

He debated his choices before standing to his feet, standing at Nendou's side and in front of the girl. She looked him up and down, eventually resting her gaze on his face. It sent a shiver down his spine.

"What's your name?" She spoke with a smirk.

"Mortelli Asher. And you?"

Her sassy aura immediately drooped into disappointment, which laced into her tone. "Aiura Mikoto.."

"What's with the change in attitude??"

"I'm looking for my soulmate, and all I know is that he goes to this school– and that his initials are S.K.."

"Uh— okay."

"What?" She tilted her head. "What's with the reaction? Do you know someone?"

'Please, dear god, just let it be a coincidence.'

"Nothin'," he glared a hole into the ground beside him.

"Alright.. anyways! I'm an oracle, which basically means I can read auras and whatnot." She took another good look at the brunette. "Your aura's kinda funny. It's sharp, but soft at the same time. Wild, yet calming... You must come off as a rebellious, almost mean sort of guy, but have a kind heart. No doubt it's giving you some sort of trouble, whether it be at home or at school or any other social situation."

'Okay, stop reading me like the fuckin' bible.'

That was like an invasion of privacy, but to a whole other level. It kinda pissed him off. And there was no reason to give that sort of depth with all of these people around.

Aren could notice the slight change in Asher's attitude and clapped him on the shoulder. "Um– I think I saw Saiki outside the door! Wow, he's finally here!" He attempted to change the subject.

And it was an attempt well done. They did really know each other like brothers. Asher immediately diverted his attention to the mentioned male, making his way out of the classroom to look for him. That was a close one.. a second longer, and Asher might've said a few things he'd probably regret..!

"I'm telling you, Saiki. If I find out one more person likes you, I think I'll go batshit. Like... I dunno, that dog will come outta me or something—"

"Dog?" Saiki questioned with absolute disbelief, laughter trailing through the word.

It brought a small grin to the brunette's face. "I'm being serious! There's way too many options for you now, like you're some sort of bachelor. You should only have to consider your feelings for me."

At the moment, the two of them were in Asher's bedroom. Saiki sat on his mattress, legs crossed as he stared at the male's back. He found himself doing that a lot. The latter was caring for his hamster at the moment, briefly cleaning his cage and giving him food.

The pink haired boy shrugged. "I don't know why I'm so popular. All I ever do is try and avoid that."

Asher hummed. "That's different."

"What is?"

"I mean," he turned to Saiki, "usually people aim for popularity. But you just want to keep to yourself. It's sorta refreshing, in a way."

'Is that so..?'

Saiki wasn't too sure how to reply, so he chose to stay silent instead.

"Would it be wrong of me to wish you were average?"

'No, but it is a bit strange.'

"Why?"

"I mean.. if you were just some guy, I wouldn't have to worry about these people chasing after you. All of these bitches are there for your face– or whatever soulmate bullshit she was on about. And you know it, too." Asher's eyebrows twisted together, attempting to calm the frown growing on his face.

"Well, do you like me because of my face?"

"What— nononono, fuck no!" Asher's reaction might've been over the top, but he wasn't the expecting that sort of question! "I mean, you're very, very, very attractive—"

'Okay, I get it.'

"—but I'm here for your personality. If I liked you for your face, I never would've bothered trying to get close to you like I have."

"My personality?" Saiki rose an eyebrow, clearly not believing the brunette. "Really?"

"Yes, really! I've already told you, you've got some spunk, and me likey." The sitting male rolled his eyes, and he laughed in response. "But seriously, my feelings are genuine. Whenever it comes to you, I'm always genuine."

The two of them peered into their eyes, the moment just as genuine as Asher said he'd be. "Yeah?"

"Yeah."

A soft, fuzzy feeling flowed through the room and through their chests. They liked it.
