Asher's dreamless sleep was rather peaceful, the hours that only felt like a few seconds feeling as if he were floating upon a cloud. It was near midday when he finally regained consciousness and his eyes began to flutter open. For a split second he had forgotten the events from the day prior and panicked of his whereabouts. But as his eyes gained focus and he noticed familiar pink hair, his heart relaxed.
Saiki hadn't been disrupted within these few seconds of panic, letting the brunette come to his senses in his own. In the meantime, he's clearly been busy with his own curiosities. Pale fingers ever-so-often traced a noticeable scar or discoloring along his arm or hand, staring for a moment before moving on to the next.
"What're you doing?" The brunette muttered, his voice muddled of sleep.
"Using psychometry to see where your scars come from." He glanced at the transparent, thin glove he had placed aside a while ago. "I was bored."
Asher hummed, watching Saiki's eyes from behind his green lenses as they ventured across his skin. Saiki's hand found its way to his exposed earlobe, piercings taken out the prior night. The brunette shivered upon contact, almost tensing away from the touch. The pinkette paused, sharing a look before he continued. "Earring got torn out," he murmured— somehow, despite using his telepathically abilities. "Must've hurt."
"Like hell," he scoffed out a laugh. He averted his eyes as Saiki continued to rub the faded scar. "Got torn in a little.. disagreement I had with someone."
"No use in being vague, I could search your head for the exact memory if I wanted."
"But you won't," they looked at each other again, "because I know you don't want to."
A second or two passed, and Saiki said nothing as he dropped his hand. That was more than enough to prove the brunette right, and he couldn't help but chuckle quietly to himself. But it wasn't enough to conceal from the other, and he lightly glared at him.
"Y'know..." Asher adjusted himself on the bed, crossing his arms over his chest, "I think I also hit once or twice in the face. The dude had rings.. there might be a left over scar around here..." He lifted a hand and circled around his mouth, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"Nice try."
"I'm serious!" A laugh or two slipped past, sitting up on an elbow so he could give Saiki a closer look. "I think I've seen it once or twice when I look closely."
"I'm able to see your skeleton. I think I'd notice a scar."
"Y'ur such a wet blanket," Asher groaned, quickly following the insult with a kiss to the male's forehead. He sat up from the bed, back faced to Saiki so he wouldn't have to see his potentially bad reaction. "Alright, lemme get home and change—"
"I washed your clothes from the other day," Saiki interrupted. He also got up, seated on the edge of the bed while the brunette made his way to the middle of the room. "There's a spare toothbrush in the medicine cabinet."
"What?"
"My parents are at work right now." They shared a look, as they have been these past couple of minutes. "And I'm feeling.. rather tired from exerting my powers yesterday. I could use the company— assistance."
"Ohh, I see," Asher laughed, turning to Saiki to see the annoyed glare he was shooting. "Alright, I'll assist you, then. Did you already do your business in the bathroom?" The pinkette firmly nodded. "M'kay, then just.. give me a minute and I'll be out."
There was a noticeable difference between the two of them now. Or, at least within Saiki. He was much more tender and honest with how he felt and what he wanted. Although he will never explicitly say it, his obvious hints were more than enough for Asher to quickly catch on. He appreciated it. It was cute how much of an effort he was making, for them.
It was just the start of their relationship, but Asher could safely say he's never been so confident in his lover. Saiki was more than trustworthy, and he can't see himself getting tired of him. Walking out of the bathroom and down the stairs, he was faced with Saiki's back which immediately turned so they were looking at each other.
'Last year I never would've thought I'd find myself a boyfriend,' he scoffed at himself mentally, standing beside Saiki as they discussed / bickered over what to have for breakfast.
'An unexpected fondness, that's for sure.'
