In a battle simulator, a virtual arena where stormtroopers were often tested for the perfection of their skills and training, FN-2187 or Finn, was dressed in white and black, First Order Stormtrooper armor, and ordered to wait at the opposite side of the arena. He carried a classic stormtrooper blaster which was set-to-kill. His match against his opponent was a death-match. Breathing heavily, FN-2187 tightened his grasp reading blaster. At the notion of a blaring alarm, he ran into the arena.

Running into the arena, the arena was in chaos covered in the debris of a destroyed battle station. There were broken towers, walls and barricades, as well as shattered satellites and shield-generators. Along with the debris, explosions were bursting off throughout the field, and to add to the horror, corpses of rebels and stormtroopers littered the grounds.

Fighting in a battlefield was unlike anything Finn had ever done in his life. He had seen dead people before in the mines, but he had never seen anything such as this. The warfield was traumatic, the horror of the battle scene crossing dead bodies while avoiding enemy fire and raining explosions was over the top. Finn ran to a safe spot on the field taking cover.

Taking cover, Finn or FN-2187 sneaked a peak across the field. As soon as he had done so, fire rained from the opposite directly coming his way. A shot ran straight for Finn's head, but he avoided the shot in the nick of time - the laser heat of the sizzling overhead. After his opponent had fired his shots, Finn peaked out and again fired his shots. His shots followed his opponent who ran for cover at a spot which was in complete view of Finn's position.

Finn bolted for a new hiding spot. Shots rained behind him trailing his feet. While he ran, fleeing for his life, he jumped, dodged and rolled just as an explosion burst from a land mine buried in the ground. Finding a new hiding spot, he settled down with his head and back leaning against the wall. He did not know where the trooper was located, but he knew he was close.

Struggling in his thoughts, thinking of what to do, at the edge of Finn's sight, he saw a mirroring object. With a thought, Finn used the mirroring object. Spotting the location of his opponent who was hiding behind a barracks, he inhaled and exhaled, controlling his breath. After resting, he took a deep breath for a last time and ran for it leaving his safe spot. Dodging the enemy's flying laser shots, Finn aimed and pointed his blaster to where he had spotted his opponent.

Firing his shots at his opponent, his opponent bolted away for his own life. Finn continued to shoot and before he could disappear from sight, he fired a shot which struck his opponent's back. His opponent fell stumbling across the battlefield. Seeing his opponent fall, he didn't know what to do except slowly creep to see if he was still alive.

Before he could reach his opponent, Finn or FN-2187 heard an applause coming from behind.

"Well done, soldier," Phasma, Captain of the First Order Stormtroopers applauded with approval. "You very well showed exceptional skill and talent." She was impressed by his maneuverability on the field and his tactics using the reflective mirror. She watched all he had done through the camera which was embedded into each and every stormtrooper's helmet.

Standing still in the face of the captain, Finn was silent.

Seeing this silence, Phasma scolded, "Soldier, respond when your captain speaks!"

"Yes, captain!" he addressed her in fear.

"Ah," she spoke aloud, looking at the tension in his eyes. Phasma then said to him, "You do indeed have a right to fear me, soldier. You do too have a right to receive a promotion from me."
