Liza P.O.V.
I second I woke up the next morning, I knew I had overslept.
The sun filtering through the curtains was much too bright, and the house was too loud. I could hear people bustling around, footsteps loud against the floor. There were chattering voices, each trying to speak over the other.
I got up with a yawn, and grabbed the clothes that Rosie had dropped off yesterday. She was more my size, and after a lot of searching, we had been able to find clothes that weren't too neon coloured. I had chosen a pair of dark blue jeans, and a simple, thick gray sweater.
The door creaked slightly as I opened it, and then I peeked out into the corridor to see if anyone was in sight. When I saw no one, I tip toed to the bathroom, and quickly closed the door shut behind me.
After a refreshing shower, I got out smelling the same as I had the day before. The shampoo, I had discovered, was Brent's. He had known and he hadn't bothered to tell me. And he was even obnoxious enough to say that I smelled good.
What a jerk.
Well, at least my thoughts weren't censored.
My hair was a complete mess again, so I just pulled it up into a bun. I would have to comb it later, and it would be much more difficult, but I frankly couldn't be bothered at the moment.
I headed downstairs, my stomach rumbling. I wonder if they would allow me to cook something, maybe scramble some eggs. I hope that wouldn't be asking too much.
Entering the kitchen, I realized that it wouldn't be necessary.
"Morning, darling." Brent said, holding up a bowl of salad. "You're just in time for lunch."
"Lunch?" I asked in confusion, walking forward to give him a hand with all the plates that were scattered around the kitchen.
"It's two o'clock, princess." Brent smirked, and I gaped at him. I hadn't realized that I had sleptthat long. "Something keeping you awake?"
I saw his mischievous grin, and frowned. "No, you?"
"Only every single thought of you." he said smoothly, looking straight into my eyes.
My face was suddenly burning. "Couldn't have been very many, because you look completely awake."
He leaned against the counter, his eyebrows raised. "Is that code for, 'You look incredibly handsome this morning.'?"
"In your dreams, gorgeous."
Damn it.
"You do realize that you just contradicted yourself?" he asked, his eyes shining in amusement. He pushed himself off of the counter, and then he was right in front of me, forcing me to look upwards to meet his eyes.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Enjoy it while you can, Brent, because these names aren't going to last forever."
"Maybe they will." he said mysteriously, a subtle smile on his lips.
I shook my head. "Whatever helps you sleep at night."
He flashed me a grin. "Yes, you do."
I threw my hands up in frustration. "I give up. You are officially impossible!" And a complete flirt. Not that I minded...
He was silent for a few moments, and I thought that he was finally going to be quiet. But then he leaned in closer, so that his face was next to my ear, his warm breath sending shudders down my body.
