Shakti glared at the trouble named Rian Peterson, quite wary of him. She retired to her bed in the corner, beside the window, and glanced outside to avoid the awkwardness and especially the stare of certain someone. She looked at others from the corner of her eye and noticed all of them looking at her. Great! She coughed slightly said smiled at the boy named Mark. And gave a fleeting look towards Rian, but didn't acknowledge him.

The blonde gave her a sweet smile and came forward. "Mark Murphy.", he said, extending his hand.

"Shakti Bose", replied Shakti with a polite smile. She couldn't help but notice the height difference between her and Mark. She also noticed how small her hand looked in comparison to Mark's.

'Why? Why am I so short? Why on earth am I so short? I feel like chopping off the legs of those tall people sometimes and attaching them to my legs', thought Shakti, internally screaming, but externally smiling, like a normal person.

"Quite short, aren't you?", said the brat, Rian. He was smirking slightly while looking at Shakti like a scientist who was ready to experiment on the guinea pig. His dark eyes shone in slight amusement. It irked Shakti more. His comment on her height made her very annoyed. "You look so small, like a toddler.'', he said in his deep voice, smirking arrogantly. Shakti's hands twitched to wipe that stupid smirk off his face. He walked off and sat on his sister's bed and relaxed while looking at Shakti with one of his eyebrows raised.

Shakti glared at the arrogant boy profoundly and said, "I don't see any reason to answer why it bothers you. You are quite nosey, aren't you?", Shakti asked him with narrowed eyes. Rian was pretty shocked to see someone so straightforwardly and brutally honest to him. This time Shakti smirked at him. Rian couldn't help but raise his eyebrows at her.

"Are you seriously trying to pick up an argument with me? On your first day? Quite an unruly girl you are", he muttered looking at her with his same smirk, the coldness of his eyes slightly dimmed. It was something not unnoticed by everyone except Shakti who gritted her teeth in irritation.

"And who was the one who started it? See, I am not in the mood of poking my nose in your conversation. Please excuse me", Shakti said looking apologetically at others then stormed out. She heard Rian giving a faint chuckle when she was outside the room. She clenched her jaw and took two deep breaths. Her anger issue is seriously getting into her head all the time. She roamed through the corridors while cursing Peterson under her breath. She was out in the vast field which was now slightly dark due to the evening. Several students were roaming in the fields and she took a seat in one of the corners of the vast area. She was in deep thought and didn't notice someone sitting beside her.

"Hey", someone spoke, startling her with the suddenness. She jumped slightly in surprise to see a cool-looking boy, sitting beside her, with his long, lean legs relaxed on the ground. He looked at her in intrigue, glancing at her slightly voluminous pixie hairs, messy and tousled by the air, and her transparent glasses, then back at her.

He had an intriguing expression on his face. the way he looked at her, she was sure that this guy must have seen what she did in the corridor that day. She looked at him for some moments then said, "Hi".

"Bose, it is, isn't it?", he asked curiously looking at her eyes.

"Yes, Bose, Shakti Bose. Did you pick up my surname that time, In the hallway, during the little mishap?", asked Shakti with a little smile.

The boy gave her a lopsided grin. Shakti noticed that the boy had light brown hair and brown eyes. His looks were average, but the way he carried himself, seemed undeniably charming. After all, your personality is what makes you more attractive to others. A charming personality is above a handsome face. "Cian Houston", he said extending his hands, while looking at Shakti with an unexplainable interest.
