THE CHANGE

In the 10th grade, entering with the fear of board exams and leaving with the fear of results, that year was filled with ups and downs at school, coupled with a similar atmosphere at home that left him completely distracted. After his exams, he went to his grandmother's place and waited for the results. He was confident that he wouldn't fail; at least 70% would be there for sure. With this confidence, he was enjoying himself until the day the results were announced, the day he made his father cry for the first time.

Upon seeing his results, his father scolded him over the phone, questioning what had happened, how he would get admission, how his future would shape up with such low marks. At that time, he couldn't understand how it had happened; he thought he had done well in the exams. Yet, he had scored only 59%. In that moment of confusion, he heard the disappointment in his father's voice, and he broke down because he realized he was the reason his father was crying.

That day was one of the worst in his life, and he had decided then and there that, regardless of what happened, he would rectify his mistake. He focused on his studies for the next two years and achieved a 79% result in the 12th grade, which he proudly handed to his father. He asked only one thing: "Are you happy?" Upon hearing his father's answer, he told himself that he had transformed the memory of that dreadful day into a moment of triumph. His father said he was happy but could have scored 1% more. Who could understand the immense effort it took to bring those percentages up? Despite everything, his achievements were considered insufficient.

That's why wise people say that if you forget the events of the day by evening when you return home, it's not called forgetting. Similarly, even if parents' words seem harsh and incomprehensible at the moment, they often hit the mark, albeit a bit late.

From every phase of his life, he had always learned something important and valuable. However, he wasn't saying that he hadn't made mistakes; he had made plenty. He had many dark secrets in his life, but he believed it was better not to unfold them.
